He's humble, but this really is one of the best songs ever written in my opinion. The lyrics are brilliant and the song itself is understated to perfection. It's not just a cute little country song, this is some Bob Dylan level shit

I disagree with his take on students. Students are preparing for getting a job after graduating, thus they are future workers. Capitalists don't even need degrees.

From what I’ve read, Puccini based the opera on a Persian fairytale. So what? Puccini wrote beautiful music.

While HUMAN history repeats, repeats, repeats, with how unfair the world is by the constant unconscious human nature of ONE'S OWN cause & effect, DO KNOW: 1)Not only is VERDI'S 'Turandot' one of HIS MOST extraordinary scores of his period of opera's history, 2) LUCIANO PAVAROTTI was one of the greatest Lyrical Tenors that graced the opera stage for 'Nesdun Dorma' 3)the MORE, it was the likes of VERDI'S RESPECT TO ASIAN CULTURE that HE FOREFRONTED ASIAN CULTURE, as he could only serve. G-D!! When is this world ever going to GET OVER THE EGO GOBBLE DEE GOOP!!!!? IMAGINE, VERDI NEVER DEVELOP A SCORE CALLED 'TURANDO!' 'I WILL CONQUER!'

the old testament contains very problematic representations of various people in the middle east. Especially Babylonians, which we now know to be one of the most influential cultures in ancient times, are demonized, the names for their gods being synonyms of the devil. So why don't we start there and edit out anything about destroying and killing other peoples?

“Slide down the slope of greatness…” unless we change the trajectory… what does that change to Cornel, without capitalism… without American consumerism? Capitalist consumerism… what we need vs what we want. Or what we want va what we have…or have access to or are “ promised” because of the color of our eyes/skin/ hair. How do we do this? Pushing to keep my house so I can keep my kids and it gets exponentially worse for some of my clients. You get You get the problems and what are the solutions. …don’t want to live in hwll… I love Nina Simone perhaps Erykah Badu more…

I'm Asian, of Chinese descent. What's What cultural appropriation was there in Giacomo Puccini's work Turandot? Us Asians and Chinese finds it interesting to European's perception of what's Chinese to them during that era. Sure, it may feel annoying when Westerners can't tell the Koreans, Japanese and Chinese apart. However, that annoyance is only prevalent among Asians who grow up in Western countries. Not here; not this part of the world. On this side, we Asians find it really annoying to hear of offense on our behalf when we don't feel offended at all.

While I totally agree, I think the speaker's point was that we need to always keep in mind that there's a possibility the the explanation for phenomena like this actually is life-- that we shouldn't forget that possibility as we continue seeking other explanations.
