Many were close but Chuck blew the top off with his sound. I think it was his lyrics combined with the driven guitar. His lyrics attracted young kids and his driving rhythm and lead riffs were danceable. His lyrics really were outstanding. Both the words and the guitar at times were very rebellious. But, he did write smoother songs like Havanna Moon and You Never Can Tell that were great too.

I saw Bob at Yong Gu Gal Korea in 1970. This is less than 30 miles from the DMZ. Our unit had set up all the chairs for the show so we had seats in third row from the stage. It was a great show and as some hear have said the toughest part of the show was singing Silent Night with 20,000 strangers 15,000 miles from home and family
