Hi Lily. I ❤ that you started this so early. My daughter was a bit overwhelmed so I assisted her in obtaining certain college information. I am happy to say that she will be attending Brown University’27 this fall. #GoBears 🐻 I just have some info to add that you may want to look at, if you haven’t already. 1) I am not sure what your stats are but when it comes to top tier colleges (anything with less than 20% acceptance rate, is a reach for anyone). That’s what I learned when gathering college information. 2) The majority of colleges make public their Common Data Set. Just because a college is Ivy League or T20 doesn’t mean they are all looking for the same things in students. The Common Data Set from the previous admission cycle, etc. will tell you what is most important to a particular college during the admissions process, e.g. GPA and recommendations at some schools rank higher than test scores and essays, so make sure you take a look at the Common Data Sets so you’ll know where to put more emphasis when applying to each school. 3) FAFSA deadlines are extremely important but once accepted there is the CSS (College Scholarship Service) form that will need to be completed and your parents will have to submit their tax documents to them IN ADDITION to FASA. Hope this helps.
