your solution by purchasing aluminum tubing and slipping the fiberglass rod into it, then taping, is the smartest... IF a person is thinking and planning ahead by cutting additional pieces and packing those... (which is the most practical)...they will be rewarded with a quick fix..... but your first two two are excellent as well. .... people just have to plan ahead, but very few do. By the way... few of the more modern tents are solid poles... the camper in this modern world were just wanting smaller and smaller sections of fiberglass poles to deal with... so the companies complied with hollow tubes with stretchy cords so no one would have to think when assembling the pole sections... HOWEVER, those of us from old school camping experience, who still have our original camp gear (because we took care of it and older stuff tended to be constructed better than the stuff coming from China)... do occasionally break stuff. Your solutions for old solid rods is simple... Thank you for your contribution to the world of camping. ---------- side note (your straight to the point of topic photography and simple auditory explanation is easily translatable by the algorithm in You Tube.... many other individuals fail to recognize this necessity when they post solutions on various topics.)

If people are starving for water, THIS is way too slow process to get enough water to survive. 1 hour has passed and all you got in return was 1 drop of water. You would not survive long at this rate, if you are in desperate need of water.

_After many failed attempts..._ What a beautiful phrase, and congratulations on persevering. I also am glad that the rope held your weight - had it broken, you may have been injured on that concrete. Take care of yourself, please.

Thank you for this video. Very well done! It seems you had a very nice overnighter in the woods. I like that type of shelter; it gets you up off the ground.

Occurred to me there is a different way to make a super shelter, dig a hole to lay in, put plastic sheet over hole, reflective mylar on floor, Sun's long rays heat ground during the day just like a car gets hot on a sunny day, should dissipate heat slowly during night.

Considering the critical temperature for methane is -82C i opt to eat beans and fart in my sealed tent to prevent condensation. Side effect is a foul smelling demise caused by asphyxiation....but hey, no condensation!!!!
