There's a history in Montana for sure with sightings like these. Even in your area just south of where you are.

There are many examples of nests on rock faces, in trees ect. which have natural cover from predators. This nest is very vulnerable on a single pole in open meadow as proof by this attack.

16:28 If you watch carefully, after the parent steps on the chick, it realises what has happened and immediately jumps back. I don't think it was intentional and was preoccupied with removing a big stick. Remember these are birds and they do not have the biggest brains.

Lovely Iris had a lot to say. Matriarch announcing it was time for everyone to go? I love listening to her vocalisations. She has never been as piercing as some other Ospreys. She has the sweetest sound 🥰

I follow another nest of eastern imperial eagles & they do the same there. Those magpies have got big balls 😂

Crows chase Red tail Hawks too, the Adult Osprey is too big for the crow to push around but the siblings not any bigger than the crows now.
