I was blessed to be in the audience for the 🍀 SPD concert where Bruce 🎸 popped out from backstage to join them for a few songs. This year it was Billy Bragg, but it's hard to top The Boss. Also, Pennywise 🤡🤘 as the opening band, and an Irish band called Kneecap who went first. They couldn't book The Shins, but it'd've been amazing to see that anatomical-themed lineup.

I never saw the Minutemen in their natural club habitat but I saw them open for REM at the Fox theater in Atlanta and they were absolutely amazing. One reason they were so fantastic is that unlike many of the headlining bands of the time, REM give the opening bands full sound.

"Routine" from that album was the first song I heard from them, back in 95. It was in a skate video and it's still one of the best songs of theirs. Great band!

The crunchy, raw and brittle guitar work is rather good - particularly on the track "Don't send me roses" !!!
