Very instructional. It wasn’t until my second year of leading did I realize that in cross system basic the lead needs to lag the left leg into the follows cross. Like dragging the toe into the cross. It made all the difference when it was finally explained to me.

Of course, unless the follower tanguero/a is in love with you, the leader should never push the follower into a close embrace. That severely violates milonga mores. You will be kicked out of the milonga and likely never be allowed to attend that same milonga in that place again. The follower has freedom on whether to accept a close embrace before that first "caminada" (or walk), except if you are romantically involved with that partner. In all other cases, let the follower decide on that embrace. And respect that.

Too bad that the sound track of the video is so poor, the English accents so heavy, and the automatic closed captions so inadequate, that half the time it can be very difficult to understand what these dancers are trying to explain and important points of the explanations are lost. Using a good interpreter rather than trying to speak imperfect English might have also helped. ☹😥
