It is inconceivable why certain persons should have it in their minds to close this theatre. William Shakespeare would turn in his grave! Quite amazing that someone would want to close this obvious benefit to the population, over a silly administrative issue.

As someone working on the railways at the time of privatisation (part of Railfreight Distribution - one of the first bits to go), I found this an amazing tale with unique insights into events I was familiar with at the time and, perhaps unsurprisingly, attitudes that still exist today.
