I miss old Torres. I still see her every time she tours but nothing hits like her self titled.

It was a nice cover, nice playing, but you shouldn't add so many different riffs and sing different notes in a different key so much, as it just sounds like a different song.

What butchery is this? Holy shit it would take 36 minutes to actually sing the words correctly. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Academically, a very nice sounding cover but I get what some are saying about it not conveying the feeling of the original. But, the original is one of the best songs of all time so this was pretty damn good. Think about it being a break up song between Paul and Artie, best friends and companions going through this lifelong journey together, that only they two share, and Artie leaving to play a movie role in Mexico and Paul is so lonely back in NY without him but wishes the best for him and hopes that everyone else in the world will see how amazing Artie is like he does.. This of course, is all a giant metaphor for how he really knows their time as a duo is nearing end and it's basically a break-up song and even more broadly, a reminder that nothing gold can stay.

The good news for you is that you're an intelligent dude. The bad news is that you're also stupid. This cover conveys the feeling of the original just fine. Very fine, in fact! Pls feel free to keep editing your comment. I'll tell you when to stop.
@emilyboban94104 жыл бұрын
@@StevenCarinci idk I kinda agree with him. The tempo and pitch changes just don't give it the same nostalgic and longing feeling the original has. Still. This is an amazing rendition

I totally agree with you. She pitches her notes awkwardly and drags the song too much. Really I was concerned for her.

Yeah I do look pretty pained when I sing. Been making those facial expressions my whole life, and it will probably never change. Sorry 'bout it! I promise no vocal chords were harmed in the making of this production, though.

@andrewjoseph36877 жыл бұрын
Don't hear any whining, sorry. You might have misinterpreted the cover..
@JustinHeinzeJournalist7 жыл бұрын
I don't necessarily disagree that this cover is a different interpretation, but art isn't math. There are no right and wrong "interpretations" and a covering artist can't "misinterpret" the song when they are creating their own song. Once an artist covers a song, it becomes it's own song. Compare different versions of "Such Great Heights" by the Postal Service, to take just one example. For that matter, compare Heart of Darkness to Apocalypse Now. Is your takeaway from Apocalypse Now really that Kubrick "misinterpreted" Conrad?

Okay, I agree with what you're saying in general. But I'd rather not get into splitting hairs on a youtube message board.
