I don't think the packaging matters as much as the design, materials, fit, and overall quality. The Everest straps seem to match the level of quality and thoughtfulness that you would expect from a product made to compliment a Rolex. I happily paid the price and expect to get several years of use out of this strap vs. the relatively short life of others.

I bought a similar Tandorio with an NH35 movement inside for less than 100 dollars from a Chinese ebay shop (new) , it is amazingly accurate, to about 30 seconds a week or better.

It's sad they cannot come up with unique designs and resort to really bad homages with weird and distasteful design choices. I don't mind and actually prefer a 41 or 42 case but 15mm thick? pftt. hard pass. Every Pagani I've ordered (and sold or returned) was poorly finished and sharp edges everywhere (the bracelet impossible to size correctly and worse than the case). I guess you get what you pay for but if you were to factor in what your time is worth to refinish and soften all those edges it ends up being more than a San Martin or countless other brands making the same replica. The V2 at least just has the "G" of their logo (how that works is unknown) but at least their screaming branding isn't there.

I have both, a casioak midnight fog G-Shock and today a Skmei metal (G-Shock) immitation. I'd have to say for the £12 I paid for the Skmei it's made bloody well made. No rattley cheap sound or anything like that. It's working pretty well. The Midnight Fog G-Shock though is beautiful. Although £150 and totally plastic! You have to ask the question are we sometimes paying way over the odds for what can be bought at a fraction of the cost? Granted the name is a bit unusual shall we say, but for a work watch it can get beaten about all day and I wont really care. For another thing I also bought a black bay Tudor for a little over £3000 recently. So either of these watches however you want to look at it are an absolute bargain. Plus I can't wear the Tudor everyday as I will cry if I scratch it.

This version is no longer available on Aliexpress, they have a new version. Looks a lot different than this one. I can't find this on any listings anymore, other brands make something like this but quality is questionable.

Smith & Wesson did themselves a disservice endorsing this watch range. I service my own watches due to my extensive collection and it came to a battery change for my S&W Paratrooper. The back was wound down so tightly that it had squashed the over-greased seal. So much grease had been used that the inside of the lens was filmed with vaporized grease. The inside of the back states 'Made In China' which is common, Japanese movement, Chinese assembly. The inside quality left me questioning putting a fresh battery in and a new gasket. I won't and will bin the watch. I will though remove the quality watchband I put on, that replaced the original that failed on the first wear, then place the quality band on a more deserving timepiece. Having bought the watch from a gun shop and having the S&W branding I felt it was a nice piece to have, the weight felt quality. In reality it is only smoke and mirrors concealing poor internal quality with a heavy case. Not all that comes from China is of poor quality, the well engineered watch-back wrench I used to remove the overtightened back was from China. The lugs on the S&W watch back were too shallow to hold any tool for removal. Smith & Wesson....what were they thinking?

What an incredible in depth review. You show a watch with its main feature being the moon phase but you haven't a clue how to set it, brilliant. I hope you can spot sarcasm.
@NotAnotherWatchChannelАй бұрын
How does setting the moon phase matter In a review? This isn’t a daily wear watch, setting it is completely irrelevant to the review
@anglewodenАй бұрын
@@NotAnotherWatchChannel How does it NOT matter? It is a main feature of a watch, it is a moon phase watch. Would you buy a bread maker from viewing a review where it didn't show you making bread?
@NotAnotherWatchChannelАй бұрын
So you need someone to run the chrono in every review also? That’s just not needed. You know what it does, do I need to film a Timelapse of every turn of the date wheel for you also?
@anglewodenАй бұрын
@@NotAnotherWatchChannel Hahaha, Calm down, I was only trying to offer constructive criticism, if you are that thin skinned perhaps youtube is not for you? Are you honestly comparing setting the date to the moon phase? wow! It is a niche feature on a watch and watching a video does help a lot of people who buy these watches on ebay but have no instructions so you would be helping people so they wouldn't have to hunt down the manual. I have watches where I can't get the manual so your channel could of been a good source to those people no? Or do you expect people just to do it by trial and error? I've people destroy watches that way but if your not interested in helping people (which you obviously are not) thankfully there are more credible sources. Thanks for nothing.
@NotAnotherWatchChannelАй бұрын
This isn’t a video on “how to set a moon phase” and it’s not thin skin, it’s teaching people like you that KZbin isn’t this place where you get to just come make anonymous snarky comments without anyone telling you off.

This video is the watch-making equivalent of all the videos of PC gamers who build their own gaming “rigs” at somewhat lower price, somewhat higher performance, much more end-user effort, and far less warranty and support. But! It gives the ones who post the videos a tremendous sense of self-importance and smug condescension over the rest of us plebs, which more than compensates them for their efforts.
@NotAnotherWatchChannelАй бұрын
It’s actually the complete opposite, it’s the equivalent of that person who makes it themselves then selling it as a “company” and ripping off everyone who wants to do it themselves. You think this company has a warranty or support? LOL
@DefStaticАй бұрын
If we are going to use your analogy, I would say it's more like someone starting a Gaming PC company and assembling some of the cheapest parts and putting it into a box with some slight options for customizing and then sending it to you and saying some assembly required. Only in this instance it's being sold to people who most would not know any better.

Looking forward to the next version. I just ordered the v6 of the speedmaster. They make them better every year. The orange looks cool imo even though they were going for a patina but those numbers being poorly legible is a deal breaker for now.

People will pay more for a hand holding experience. It’s not the restaurant analogy, it’s the food box analogy. You can buy produce and make a meal cheaper than Factor or those other companies but if you are nervous about it or don’t care, getting the hand holding experience is worth it. It also helps people who want to gift something without having to become an expert themselves. I am interested to make a hobby of this so I have taken time to learn what tools I need and what parts I need. Buying from a US website (not being entirely convinced about buying directly from China without protection) my tools and parts are not much less than DWC who are a company who offers a service and makes a profit.
