Kind of surprised how loud it is. Are these mechanically the same as the Curved Dash?
@jeffbrucruАй бұрын
@@furripupau they are very similar but not exactly the same. Curved dash had 5 hp and this has 7. The oiler is different as well. This one hasn’t had a muffler for at least the last 75 years, but originally would have come with one.

Strange design, why did they design it to leak oil

I cannot vouch for this specific engine, but plenty of things from this era were oiled on a 'total loss' basis, just like steam engines.

Seals weren’t necessarily the best and oil was cheap, it’s easier to make a system whenever you top off oil. It also showed when you were low or out of oil.
@jeffbrucruАй бұрын
@@moconnell663 yes…this one is a total loss system. My understanding is that it really didn’t have seals. It runs off crankcase pressure and has three places that it oils. Then just drips out on the road. This one is supposed to drip a certain amount per minute.

If i remeber correctly the reason that was on my mind when i posted that comment was that i had been looking for amps and seen several good deals on silver face fenders, including a Bandmaster and a Princeton reverb at GC..they often have good prices on used guitars an amps, but it s was two years ago im not sure..But your right the DR is one of the "cult" amps and they always have been, the DR as well as the TR
@rg712011 жыл бұрын
There's no way you're going to find a silverface Deluxe Reverb for $350-450. A Bassman head is easy to find at that price, but you're lucky if you can get a silverface DR for $1,500.

This was my old '78 Silverface Master Volume Twin Reverb...which has since been stolen. Great amp. You can still find them reasonably cheap. This one had the blue label speakers rather than Jensens. I still miss it.
