Mine started like that on 2010 crv. Replaced cap and seemed okay and then started to do it again. I haven't put many miles with new gas cap and it goes off. Just weird. Does it kick codes of anything? Did you have checked out by garage or yourself or by parts store, it takes about 50 miles of driving before it clears to 75 miles that I found out, hate to have someone to clear it and its not fixed at all. Anything noticeable thats weird like exhaust preasure in engine at idle and takes oil cap off and it would sound like exhaust with preasure coming from it, someone said thats the breaking of the engine as it brakes and why you can't throw into neuture and cost at all, i guess its very bad for something. Don't know but going down hill and not giving gas, then you feel the brakes like your pressing on brakes and I am but not as hard and found weird when test drove these and all did it, one was much worse and it needed brakes, i backed out of deal because I thought it was calipers sticking on flat ground and son drove it and said that's weird on flat ground and no gas but from 30 quickly down and almost stopped in less than 1/8 mile and flat street thats brand new tared. Never felt that besides calipers sticking, so they Replaced the nice new Is Michelin tires which was why i left a deposit and said would look at. 80K tires with nubs still on and dealership probably put on but ended up selling at auction and I came back to get with money and he said nothing wrong with brakes and they had grooves in rotors at 110K on it, he put wrong sized tires and said i wanted the Michelins that I put a Deposit on and test drove it with, those Chinese name brand tires are good for 45K and right here and not what I was buying. Calling the state on you and he threaten me that I'll hurt you and have my information. So he said im giving you your deposit and called the state licensing board about what happened and said the way we was treated, he didn't care as can get much more overseas for it and playing games with people as he had another couple getting ready to take for ride, I said you can't do that once someone gives a Deposit to buy it. Now it's going to be theres, if no deposit, then yes , you can sell and why i gave $200 and had receipt for it. Was selling cheaper than others like this and was surprised. Its because hecstrips parts like tires and wheels and thats $1,600 plus bucks of a different with steel wheels on LX instead

Thanks, I couldn't fit a wrench on the lower bolt due to the heater core hose being in the way. A guy on CRV forums tied a string at the end of an 8mm wrench and I used the same method!

¿Did you checked the fuel avg in the display when you had that issue with the purge valve? My question is because I do suspect of mine valve. And I recently did 300 miles trip contrasting with fuel pump. And I found that my "AVG" in the display is no accurate. Ii show a lower/poor fuel efficiency number, when in real life, I mean the fuel that I put in there is better.

Funny cause wife has Honda crv 2010. Check gas cap think for a month. Replaced that. Still flashing check gas cap, and today, no gas cap message but check engine light. When the check engine solid light came on did the flashing check gas cap warning stop? Thanks, pretty sure I know the part to get!

Bro! You are a life saver! My gas cap warning has been going on forever. Then, today (much like some of the other people that commented) my check engine light came on. Code reader said cannister system low purge flow, and system purge flow malfunction. KZbin led me to a different video in which a tech was diagnosing the probable cause- but no explanation as to how to replace it, nor any mention of the gas cap warning. Once I saw your video and the comments, I feel certain that replacing this will kill two birds with one stone. I actually just had to remove the whole air filter box a few months ago to replace the #2 sensor on the tranny. (Throwing that up here in case any more Honda CRV owners run into that issue later!) Getting the bottom of the box off really is easy and it probably would make getting to that bottom bolt on this much easier. I confess I didn't know how to remove the bottom of the air filter box at first until I KZbind a similar video on a Honda Accord. It's like one bolt and then you just pull up. Mostly just slid down on the posts and held by rubber grommets. But back to your video- THANK YOU SO MUCH for putting this up here! Not all of us can afford expensive repair shops. KZbin warriors like yourself help the rest of us folks that are trying to get by!

Got a good question I just fixed this problem today around 5:00 p.m. and drove around for about an hour and a half then drove the car around 11:00 p.m. and now the check engine light came on is there any correlation to this cuz at first for a while I was saying check the fuel cap I bought a brand new fuel cap then I bought this part that you showed how to install. But the check engine light has never come on until today so is there any correlation to the problem I fixed

That is your EVAP purge solenoid. Your Purge canister is next to your gas tank. Go ask any emissions guy.
