I have the 8” cube. No matter what I try, I cannot get it to work right. I’ve tried making my centers 4.25” instead of 4.5 and if I use a scant 1/4” seam, it comes out right now and then. I thought the beauty of the accuquilt would be to use 1/4” seam that lines up with the dog ear corners being 1/4”. I’m not sure how to make it work right.

What size are your unfinished blocks coming out as? Have you tried different threads and different pressing techniques (open vs. to the side)?

I like doing both versions of binding. I recently attached binding to back side, so the big stitch was on the front...love it!

Great job , I hope you know about Eleanor Burns flying geese. Well maybe you got your ideas from her but yours are a little different especially the sewing style. I like your design and her style. I saw hers first but I will try out your design too. Thanks for sharing. 😊

why do you press the seams open? You're renewing my interest in my accuquilt (which I have not really used since I bought it 5 years ago).
@HomemadeEmilyJane4 күн бұрын
I tend to press open for flatter seams but I’ll best the seams to the sides when it makes sense to match up points 🙌🏼

I wish u would have shown how to turn a corner with big stitch, something about an “x”. Thank you.
@HomemadeEmilyJane10 күн бұрын
I don’t do an X at the corner, I just start a stitch at the end and then do the next stitch angled 90 degrees to keep going

Accuquilt dies and this customized option are far too expensive for the average budget. Nice idea but not very practical for many of us.

Cool sewing space! Love the kitchen island idea, I saw one like that in ikea that I considered getting and wasn’t sure, now I might just get it cos it looks great in home!! 😂❤

I love making digital quilt mockups and have been thinking of getting either EQ8 or Affinity Designer for this purpose - curious if you have a favorite of one over the other. I have an online quilt shop so would love the ability to easily create some simple classic quilts and then easily switch the fabrics out to showcase different fabric lines as they become available. In your opinion would EQ8 or Affinity Designer be best for this? Can you globally change one fabric to another with Affinity Designer?

Love your video!!! Not sure if this is possible but I would think so, and figured you would know lol! Let’s say I’m doing an appliqué design and I wanted the fabric for the appliqué to look like a quilt material, like has the quilt pattern stitches on it, do you know how I could do that?
