I am obsessed with shape & form! I am so involved with the dialog created by introducing elements and composing them in such a way, that I can capture the tension between their different form…thru utilizing ONLY natural light!

Is it just me or is the “dried” painting different from the other one? Seems so to me. Frankly I’d throw the first one away. But what the heck do I know?

Hi Bob, a message from Amsterdam, The Netherlands. I love your video's! They make me want to start painting and do collage. Could I ask you a very simple, rather prosaic question? How do you stick your paintings to the wall? With magnets? Or...? I work in my living room and try to find a practical and not to ugly way to attach my work to the wall. Tank you for your suggestions! Pietha

As a self-taught painter who uses almost exclusively checkerboard or closely related abstract compositions in my artwork, this process was so validating to see! I tend to get a bit scared about not having an art education, and I start telling myself that I don't know what I'm doing. But seeing Bob doing this kind of art, using a very similar process and many of my favorite techniques, makes me feel like I'm not all that clueless. 😅 And oh my GOSH the finished pieces at the end are gorgeous Bob! So much yummy texture, and great variation in shape and size in there. 😍
