where did you purchase your kayaks? the only fluid dealer I've found local to me is a out of the garage guy in Chattanooga. I'm not real comfortable with that.

Hello Jessica. There is a guy in Chattanooga now that has bought a load of them and has them for sale. Here's his email [email protected]

Nice run. Seems like you have a fair amount of experience in the SOAR boats. What PSI do the SOAR boats run at?
@the3carrs7 жыл бұрын
Not really sure...but they are really fun boats! We now have a s12 and usually paddle tandem but also paddle solo.

+Sandra Carr thanks. I found the info. 3-3.5 to account for sun expansion. I'll probably shoot for 3 on the floor and 3.35 on the tubes and see how that feels. Doesnt seem like anyone I asked uses a gauge... They just go by feel, which of course is my standby when I forget the gauge. I'd love to see you post more videos of them in action. This video is one of the very few of the S10 in action, and why I ended up with it (for a ridiculously good used deal). I know tons of folks own them, but info is scarce and even videos are rare, usually years old and hard to come by. Thanks again, can't wait to get mine in the water.

+Sandra Carr just a few other questions: are you using thigh straps? And the standard seat? And what about paddle length vs your hard OC with a saddle? I'm guessing I need to add a few inches to my normal 56" werner bandit?
@the3carrs7 жыл бұрын
We only use the 12 foot one now and we are short i am 5'2 husband is 5'5. we use 52" AB edge paddles. we do have standard seats and it is the same size we use with hard shell canoes. We have thigh straps attached. I have a bad knee and don't normally paddle hard shell now. because your weight is mainly on the seat, it doesn't hurt my knee. I didn't like the 10 foot much as i felt i sat too high. I believe this was one of the prototypes and it could be changed some now. Also i wouldn't like soloing it on class Ii stuff as the wind blows it around more on still water. Love the soar 12. We had a 14 and it was too long for us. if we only had 1 boat, it would be soar 12. thanks, Sandra

+Sandra Carr thanks for the info and feedback. I can totally see the any of the inflatables getting blown around (afterall, OCs typically have this issue vs kayaks ). And I also figured the height of the seat might be an issue. I actually wrote Larry an email a while back asking about potential options for lowering the seat. This is something I might play around with. It does seem to ride high just setting it up in my living room. I'm wondering if hanging the seat below the thwarts would fix it. Maybe adding an inflatable thwart as a seat/kneeling thwart. Should be able to glue D-rings onto an inflatable thwart and then either use the gunnels or glue some into the S10. Thanks again. Enjoy the S12!

Fluid has not sold boats in the US for a few years now. I am importing a partial container from the factory in South Africa. They will be here in the US in October or so of 2016. If anyone is interested in a new, still in the wrapping Do It Now, please email [email protected]. If the email address did not give it away the boats will be located in Chattanooga, TN.

What size boat is she riding? Can anyone tell? I'm looking to get one of these and trying to get a handle on their sizing. I'm guessing this is a large because it looks very voluminous.
@the3carrs6 жыл бұрын
This is a large size. I am small but love the large. Tried a med but it is not as stable or easy to paddle. I would get a large for anyone unless you really want to learn major skills. the large is just big booming fun!

I have been on the hiawassee I think it was on tubes, where did y'all put in to find whitewater like that?
@the3carrs8 жыл бұрын
they call the spot 3 bears. some call it other names. and then there's a spot on down just before the train bridge on the road side. there are lots of play spots on that river. much more fun in a kayak than in a tube.
