Horse is not that wild it had that halter on a few times if there was some sort of box for the boy to stand on like a mounting box be very useful and mum stands there and laughs at the boy .glad the boy never fell off the fence under the horse .

Telling a little human respect and kindness towards other creature, Leitung HIM do Aline, growing by that- and giving the horse a chance to learn to Trust. Very nice to watch that. Children are always the Future.

You can't halter a horse from the front, you need to be on the side, the left side in particular. The horse should get 10 stars for his patience - The mother should be sent far away from the scene. The kid should get five stars for his patience in listening to the mother. This is an extremely dangerous way to do anything around a horse, and this horse, as this site says is a wild guy. Get the kid off the metal fence the rattling sounds of the fence are enough to spook the horse.

Your son did an amazing job. He did not give up. For the naysayers out there, you’ve probably no experience dealing with the training of horses so it’s understandable that you’re nervous watching this video. The horse never retracted his ears or flared his nostrils, jerked his head away, etc. those are all signs that a horse is distressed and uncomfortable. What’s more, the horse makes eye contact with the boy, leans his ears forward and nuzzles the kid and always goes closer. I find the entire video wonderful. It’s so nice to see kids outdoors, learning how to do chores, animal husbandry, as well as tenacity and responsibility. ❤️. Well done Mom!

Mom, you did a great job of allowing your boy to learn. It will mean more to him in the long run that he got through this challenge under his own steam. He and the horse did well together. It seems pretty gentle to me. No flashing eyes, no wildly tossing his head, no noisy stomping his feet. Great job, mom!

How old is this boy 8? My dad made me learn how to catch, tack up and ride at 5. School of stupid is not teaching. Teach him how to catch a horse and how to get the horse to lower his head to put on a halter, might have been the smarter thing to do. That wasn't teaching him how to be around a horse. If that horse wasn't so gentle that boy could have been badly hurt hanging on that fence. Maybe Mom needs some school of hard knocks before she gets her son hurt or killed.

I think the boy is too small to do this. Why make him try? How about using a proper stand instead of the fence?
