Please provide an accurate listing of shops in North America where Starboard large foilboards are available. Most of the shops you list on the website do not have current Starboard products. I want a large X-15 or other Starboad lightwind board , 160L and above. Thaniks.

I think the Starboards look fantastic, but I find it difficult to choose which model I should go for. I weigh 90kg and am 60 years old, since I was 18 I have been windsurfing, kitesurfing, kitefoiling and since wingfoiling has existed I have completely idolized wingfoiling. Especially DW wingfoiling far on North Sea & Mediterranean Sea swell, but because of my age I have a bit more difficulty getting up. My knees are a bit difficult, especially when I am still sitting with my knees and want to get up in a gust, then I sometimes have trouble with the nose diving with my 90 liter board (AK Phazer 5'6") . So yes, I thought maybe it would be better with a slightly longer narrower board that is also a bit faster on foil with pumping (accommodate Sabfoil Razor foil), which is also better for my bad shoulders.

Hi! We would recommend you this board if you want a longer 90L board: NEW 6’6″ x 20″ / 90 L ABOVE Length: 6’6″ / 203 cm Width: 20″ / 51 cm Rider Weight: up to 90 kg Unlike shorter, wider boards, the 6’6” is efficient in light winds. The Vee nose and slight rocker accelerate with ease, while the 20” flat deck offers the comfort of a wider board.

@@StarboardFoilboard Thanks for your response, I was thinking more about the SB Take Off 6'0” x 24” / 95 L. It seems to me that it is more suitable as a one quiver board (length), or is it much slower on foil than the Above?

Looks good. Wish the track were extended a bit more forward to accommodate Armstrong foils.

Try a "rake" shim plate under the mast, then the mast can be moved back a bit.

Wonder wy you put that handle on the bottom ? it scraps the hidrodynamics.
@wingfoilcoach
@wingfoilcoach Ай бұрын
Not really noticeable. But that plug idea is surely gunna create a vacuum drag before takeoff 🛫
@StarboardFoilboard
@StarboardFoilboard Ай бұрын
Hi Pierre, The handle is made from flat webbing, and there is no negative effect on hydrodynamics. 🤙🏽
@StarboardFoilboard
@StarboardFoilboard Ай бұрын
Hi, There is no possibility of vacuum drag for a few reasons: the EVA plug fits at the same level as the board, leaving insufficient space to create a vacuum effect. Additionally, the slots on the deck go through the carbon plate, meaning there is no enclosed space between the plug and the deck, so vacuum formation is not possible. Many tests confirm this. 😉

Would you not say that the more rocker, the harder it is to get on the plane, it creates more drag? Thanks
@StarboardFoilboard
@StarboardFoilboard 2 ай бұрын
Hi Nick, Higher Rocker can be slower getting onto plane but as the Take Off for 2025 is in a longer and narrower size the added length and more rocker gives you great touch downs for easy recovery. The longer size gives you more waterline and narrower width allows faster acceleration when getting onto foil. We hope you get to try out the Take Off and let us know how you feel!
