Great job on correcting the issue withe pattern. Your seam is perfect and unnoticeable. I have a problem now, similar where the seam at the back of the counter top is okay then half way down it’s very noticeable. Also right where the seam is it is rubbing on the drawer. The installers took a grinder to the bottom of this to try and fix it. No dice, after several attempts it kept chaffing on the drawer. Their do solution was for one guy to pick up the end of the counter and put a couple of slivers of wood ( not shims) where the dishwasher goes in so it would not rub on the drawer. Kind of a Mickey Mouse fix and those slivers of wood will break down over time and I’ll be left with the problem. Also the pattern is completely off. A piece at the other end of the kitchen which was the same exact size would have matched perfectly. So I’m sure the installer picking up on the end of the countertop to put those splinters of wood in did not help the look of the seam. The kitchen cabinet company and countertop company should get a prize for the tap dance they are doing to try to get out of repairing this correctly. However this old dog wants it done correctly. Communications have been sporadic at best. The BBB compliant got their attention along withe fact I’ll be playing golf in the same tournament as kitchen cabinet owner who I know values his reputation in the city. Either way it will fixed or I’ll be taking them to court. I tried my darned best to avoid a poor quality kitchen Reno, but the best intentions never go unpunished.

If you like, you can email me some pics of the seam. I would be glad to take a look and give you my advice/opinion. It's very hard to diagnose without visually seeing the issues. You can go to countertop Kings.com I'm sorry this happened to you. Unfortunately there are a lot of people out there doing this work that shouldn't be. Have a blessed day

Ouch!, nice repair though! Where you used the timber to level up we used to use a strip of stone face down to level up Could of maybe pinned that but your joins are pretty good anyway

I had to use something thin so I could still work on area. The stone defenatly would work but my luck I would glue it to what I'm fixing and make it worse.

How you can work using an inch and sixteenths and blah blah blah blah blah. you like how thick is 3 cm granite? Well it’s 3 cm. The metric system is definitely better without cause an argument how you guys work with those sixteenths of an inch millimetres exist?
@FOUCHFABS
@FOUCHFABS 8 күн бұрын
@robinmoss1060 well brother here in the USA most people don't know what 3cm is. I much prefer metric when I'm working on cars, much easier to grab a 10mm wrench. That being said why be a dick with the blah blah blah and a debate over the metric system being better. Defenatly some crap you only see on the internet. Ppl know they won't get smacked in the mouth when they say dick thi gs on here. Lol
