Nice to see that you have now Upgraded into the skies☁️ which was a long time coming tbh bringing a different kind of view and perspective of home. This particular vid takes you on a kind of nostalgic, digital and spiritual Journey so to speak as you can see the all to familiar locations stretching out across the town and over the other side of the dock. The accompanying music is also a nice touch that blends in nicely with the content. Well done on a great first flight and I look forward to seeing many more in due course💯

OQH closed down now like most of the local pubs. And yes you’re on the Buckley line there which had small locos pulling wagons of coal and bricks from Buckley many kilns and shallow mine workings. Railway terrace faced onto the line before it climbed up between the cricket pitch and cubs football pitch which were both pits for brickworks, as was the navy pitch and the tip, before the line went up across Englefield and Mold road, up to Northop hall. The other bridge tunnel was a spur to connahs quay train station, connecting the Buckley line to the main coast line. It also connected to it via the docks lines network , joining on near crumps railway works, and also the docks line extended to the railway bridge over the Dee with a chord connecting to the Wrexham to Bidston line just shy of the upper platforms.

Yes mate, the road by the dress shop, now the funeral directors, went straight up the hill, before the days of the roundabout etc. Equally the Chester to hawarden road ran straight across, the hawarden old road is still there behind railings adjacent to the end of the runway. From the church the church road went over a bridge across the main saltney to Denbigh railway, and then it carried on direct to Bretton, before the days of the shopping park. From where you were stood at the church, a few mins walk up into the village (now an underpass below the roundabout to shops and A55 bypass) stood a magnificent stately home, Broughton Hall, sadly demolished to make way for the houses and the offas dyke pub. The Avenue of trees along Broughton hall road is one of the few remaining testaments to what once was a leafy country estate surrounded by fields and farms only, aside from the aircraft factory build early in WW2 as a secret shadow factory for building wellington and Lancaster bombers, and mosquito fighters.

Hi Andy and Anne-Marie my name is Mark I’ve just joined your channel and been enjoying watching them. I live in Wirral and I saw your video today of you both in Birkenhead a couple of years ago. I just wanted to let you both know that Birkenhead has actually had government and also money from Liverpool to regenerate the place work has actually got started if you went there now you’d see some differences the town centre is pretty much dug up and is totally being refurbished. Argyle street you mentioned is also having a lot of work done to starting very soon new bars restaurants a new market in the former Argos store by bus station you passed a brand new park along the former railway line near argyle street Woodside being refurbished to. That central hotel is being demolished with a new one being built and the flyovers near it are to getting demolished with a new housing village being built. So I think if you come again in a number of years you won’t recognise the place. Thought I’d let you know. I’ll look forward to more videos. And well done to Anne-Marie for the great information to she’s lovely.

We really enjoy our wanders mark, I’ve taken photos for years and have always loved video but was restricted by hardware years ago. The kit these days makes it easier and we try and capture stuff as it is now so in the future when we are long gone maybe future folks can have a moving image also of how things were. We will no doubt be back to Birkenhead again to capture some more. I’m surprised so many folks are interested now but a lot of people have come along to join the ride :) hope you all enjoy and also continue to fill in the bits we don’t know or get wrong. My editing kit is a bit stone age so takes a while and burnt out one laptop rendering these long videos. It’s great fun though and glad people enjoy. Always encourage you guys to get out filming too. Make a huge reference one day for people from all cities, towns and villages especially the ones no one ever films. Hope you enjoy rooting we have uploaded a pile and more to come though I lost 8tb of data last year :( ah well

Brilliant video, what a lovely pub, with bags of history. Good conducted tour there too, as he says the places smells of its own history, and even echoes of Queen on the piano! Real Ales available and nice food menu. I hope the place does well, despite the govts efforts to shut such places down and force people to stay at home permanently and take their state injectables and tracker microchips etc (oops there I go again getting all conspiracy theorist).
