I swear this is one of the most beautiful cultures...from the music, dance, food, and all around history as a people. I only know what I've heard from people married into my family and the friends I have... but i can wait to visit and experience it 1st hand.

JayLynn....Once upon a time I was this wild kid who grew up crazy about The Jets. I had 1st met them back in the 80s and they were going to be performing in NYC at the Apollo Theatre with LL Cool J. I asked my mom could I go and she said no. So i snuck out the house from Connecticut which is about 2.5 hrs away, went to the concert, got caught sneaking BACK into the house...and got the ass whooping of doom. Along with being grounded for what seemed like a lifetime. Now almost 40 yrs later I can still say it was worth it LOL. So I've got a request/favor to ask. By any chance do you have any footage of when they performed at the Apollo Theatre? Or their 1st performace of Crush On You on this show called Dance Party USA? All I have is whats stored in my aging memory of those moments. I'll be looking out for it, f you ever come across them. Again thanks for sharing.

But the sneaking out and watching your favorite music artist perform and live to tell the tale! 😁 Well, about your request, I will try to see if my MIL has anything. But as for right now, I don't have any early shows or performances of Crush. I will definitely go on a treasure hunt for it. Those of you who are here b/c of the memorial concert for Eugene will hear him sing "Whet My Whistle" and a lot of bonus tracks like Prince's "I Would Die for You ". For the 40th anniversary they should release the original albums the Jets and Believe which had some great tracks that you don't find on the best of albums.

Haini is really a great bass player. If Haini reads this, check out the band Heatwave from the 70's and Mario Mantese. Mario was their bass player. He was injured in the late 70's and couldn't play anymore but he kicked butt on Rod Temperton songs.
