Hearing Johnny's voice takes me back to my early teen years. He was the pastor of my church in the early 1980's (the only church he ever pastored) and there has never been another man that could sing like him (and I've seen a lot). Look up the KZbin video of Johnny and Vestal Goodman singing "Looking for a City" if you wanna hear him SANG! He had 3 sons, and Kevin, the oldest, was the same age as me. He sang and wrote contemporary/christian rock when he got older. Unfortunately, Kevin passed away a few years ago. I can't remember the year, but I know he was too young. He was in his late 40's. Thanks for sharing his music.💙 Leeanne Crisler

To me.. this soul-stirring rendition of Rusty Goodman's 'timeless classic' 🏵 sang by the late Johnny Cook is by far the most beautiful l've ever heard. 💛 Each time l listen.. the beauty in his voice.. annointing and pure emotion as well as the sheer volumne as he sing's this 'masterpiece' in his Remarkable Lower Tenor Lead amazes me! 💫 Just Breathtakingly Beautiful! 🤍 🌹🍃 Truly a blessing to hear!...as well..to listen to as he speak's in his own voice on Live audio (which is so rare) regarding being ready to meet his Lord and Saviour! 💛 💔 🌹 ▫️ A real treasure!! 💖

He passed away May 14, 2000 He was 51. Not sure what caused it but everything I've read said he died from "a result of liver and kidney failure".

God gave Johnny that special beautiful voice for a specific reason. I don't actually know why. I just know he more than blessed my heart so many times in concert and on recordings, I am ever grateful for his short time here on earth but we'll get to hear him for eternity one day, I hope and pray. R.I.P. Johnny

My Brother sang this at my Mother-laws funeral. Almost this good. Nothing like Johnny Cook. To hear him actually talk is awesome. Sorry he had to leave so young

This is truly awesome. Not only do we get to hear Johnny Cook sing a beautiful song, but also get to hear him in his own voice tell us how ready he is to meet our Savior. Hope all his Fan page friends will listen. Thank-you Mr. Gary Wheeler.
