Aw come on Kevin, the financial services industry and insurance companies are the ones ripping everyone off. Car dealers are not even in the same ball park, not even close. Everyone is aware and knows to have a shield up for cars. Guys like you have been putting your same info and warnings out for decades. How about warning them about the high agent commissions for home , auto, health, etc and how they deny claims.

I went to a Toyota dealership a week ago and they gave me an OTD and I signed and put my deposit down for when the car comes in. It had a rebate on it (which is still active), but is only if you finance. I told them at the end I was not financing and they said I could still have the rebate and OTD which I SIGNED. Now they called me week later saying I have to pay an extra $500 as the rebate is not applicable to me even though I signed a OTD price. Is this even legal?? Thought?

That dealership needs to be shut down and someone should be in jail.

I just walked away from a dealer that has a $899 admin fee, a $207 electronic filing fee, $987 in "mandatory dealer add ons" for tire care, tint, and Ford protect surface care. They also "required" me to use their financing at a higher rate than I can get at my bank, and refused to disclose the buy and sell rate on it. If I used my own financing I would lose the discount on the vehicle. I just walked away, and told them they don't want to do business. I would rather get a root canal.

Don't go to Chevrolet at Puente Hills they false advertise unsatisfied customer

I retired from the USAF Medical Corp shortly after the 💉💉💉💉 became mandatory in '21. We had a member of our clinic get rushed to the ER less than 24 hrs. after 💉#1. Another had blood clots all through his legs. Well, that's a "nope!" from me so I dropped my papers and left. All-in-all, I'll never set foot in a hospital again unless I'm seriously injured or ill.

This brings tears to my eyes. Whats sad is I understand how emotional a bad deal can cause mental issues. My wife and I had tears later at night the day we purchased our new '24 Trailblazer in May. Consumers should hire an inspector especially with a used car. I have looked at the legal definition of "AS IS" and it means that there is no obligation of the seller to guarantee the condition of the car.

Question, some of the Toyota dealerships in Jax Florida are advertising life time warranties on their used cars. Can you explain the catch and how they do this.

no offense but you buy an as-is car for $4000 then you get what you get... I sell some cars that way and absolutely disclose in 100 different ways the car you're buying is as-is, if you drive it off the lot and the transmission falls out it's not coming back to us... and "if you would like me to show you something newer with a warranty and more mechanically sound I am happy to show you what we have to offer" ... but they STILL insist on the $4000 car and say it'll be fine... it is what it is.

I am older than 70 and would NEVER EVER let myself be screwed over by a car dealership. I have always paid UNDER MSRP FOR A VEHICLE AND never pay junk fees including the DOC fee which is also a junk fee.

Could the family sue the dealership for wrongful death??

Can't you still, just walk into to the dealer, without doing all this crazy research, tell them what payment you can afford, and have them pick out the right car, suggest any added dealer options, and best financing for you? Aren't they their to help the customer get a great deal?! They are always so friendly when I walk in the showroom and tell them how I want them to work hard, FOR ME, by doing all the stupid things I have no interest in doing!

Be very careful going off google reviews. Many dealerships strongarm customers into leaving positive review before leaving the lot. They won’t hand you the keys to your new car until you leave that review and they read it.

I hate dealerships! I have not purchased from a dealership in 40 years and I won't in the future. It's an entire team against one.

2018, my wife wanted a brand new Alfa Romeo Stelvio. $55,000. We are cash buyers. The dealer, Dennis Dillon in Boise Idaho, solved everything until we went to F&I , Finance and Insurance, to write the check. Paperwork had thousands of Dealer AddOns not discussed. They also require the vehicle be financed at a local bank. Remember,mwecare cash buyers. After refusing to remove addOns and allowing a check, we walked from the Dennis Dillon property. Salesman gave us a couple of days to cool off and promised to resolve. We came back as wife really wanted an Italian SUV. Bought the car, financed with local bank with as large down oayment as they allow. BTW, dealer gets a kickback on the financing if it runs 30 or more days. Paid it off 6 days later. No kickback to dealer. Dennis Dillon gave up Alfa Romeo franchise the next year. Next closest dealer is over 300 miles away for repairs. Would anyone buy from them? Never again

When a dealer makes me a ridiculously high priced offer, I counter with a ridiculously low price. If they are willing to make an honest effort to negotiate I will talk with them. If they get ignorant I just say ….we are done….and walk away.

Can I negotiate even though I get the Ford z plan. We're interested in an Explorer or possibly an Expedition

I have a problem with the "5 min/15 min" test drive. So I have decided to rent the car/cars I'm interested in and drive them for a day. Sure a car is neat at the dealer but how is it for some time like a day or two. I'm looking at a Prius/Camry/Honda. All cars I can rent and see if I really like them. The getting in and out of the Prius is my main concern. It's very low with a steep windshield.

Buyer beware, experienced a platform named CARAMEL somehow slid into a craigslist 'private party deal' [so seller claimed] offered typical GET PRE APPROVED well since did it with one of my credit card companies and no ding - thought no foul BUT these guys had TWO Lenders make HARD PULLS w/o authorization! When confronted they provided NO remedy OR remorse like it was my fault, I provided no authorization or even enough data, I thought ,to make such a pull - dinged 4 points off near perfect credit from this stunt - stay away from CARAMEL!
