In June of 2010, I heard this beautiful song for the first time when I watched Away We Go, a film about a pregnant couple planning their future. I just found out I was pregnant with my daughter. I don’t know what it is about this song precisely, but it encapsulated the entire vulnerable experience of discovering your life was about to change in the best way alongside your partner, and the whole notion of “wait for me” illustrated the importance of doing this together. This song engulfed me then. That baby is now 13 and doing great, and every time I hear this song I think about the moment I wondered what she’d be like. Thanks for this beautiful piece; it’s been a staple in my life for 14 years. ❤️❤️❤️

I thought I put my truck in park and let my foot off the brake. Rolled back into the garage door I rent from my apartment complex. Figured what the hell, probably cost me a grand or two depending on how they handle the deposit, then said f**k it and cranked the volume for the chorus and sang at the top of my lungs.
