You need a shoulder rest1# 2# you need to tighten your bow so the tip of your index finger can fit in it nice and snug and you don't want the viola to be right infringement of you shift it more to the left ok fun fact no matter how your fingers are placed if your bow is messed up in any way it won't sound good

A lot of kids that age don't understand, but you can get yourself really sick doing that. Whether or not your friend is displaying cold or flu-like symptoms means nothing. Hopefully, that's something you don't do anymore. Don't be playing anyone else's wind instruments and don't let anyone else play yours.

You can play other people’s instruments by cleaning the mouthpiece you know
@dominicnickel8724
@dominicnickel8724 9 ай бұрын
@@saidoof9369 still a bad idea. You want to get the instrument professionally cleaned if more than one person is playing it. Professional cleanings aren't cheap. It's better for everyone to use their own. You shouldn't even let your own mom or pop play your instrument. Listen to someone who had H1N1 back in 2009 and had COVID in 2023. That was me, all right! I wouldn't even want to play an instrument in a marching band that I borrowed from the school.
@dominicnickel8724
@dominicnickel8724 9 ай бұрын
@@jamesernst5278 your friend was not making a smart decision allowing you to play his wind instrument. Let him play and you can listen. Then you can play your trombone and he can listen. Simple as that.

That's a good idea too. And if you have a simple dynamic or condenser microphone that you could plug into your laptop, that could help pick up your voice just as much as the piano and you wouldn't be drowned out so much. Or if there's a speaker system that you can plug a microphone into there, go for that.
