Correct me if I'm wrong, but your board had an address jumper plugged into it. The factory boards have the address jumper plug. When you purchase a replacement, you either move the jumper plug or use the switches to set the address. With the jumper in place the switches do nothing.

You are thinking of the residential IFC board, The commercial Symbio options modules have 2 dials that need to be set to the correct address so the main board (UC700) can recognize and communicate with it.

I have come behind many new installs to correct the twinning problem. Many techs only know what their bosses taught them. If your company mostly installs one or two brands, grab an installation manual or go online and thoroughly learn the product you are installing.

Can you explain how to set the options using the app for the symbio700 board?

That one is a little harder, there are so many options. Its kind of like the choose your own adventure books when you where a kid, as you select different options, more options will populate in the app, giving you different options to set. When you are editing, if you select an option and it doesn't highlight "APPLY" that means you still have needed options to set for that selection, so you have to continue editing. Once you have all of those requirements set, "APPLY" will be highlighted and allow you to save the selections. I hope that makes some sort of sense.

Thanks man, this helped a lot!! Finally wrapped up this service call on 5 new RTU’s that used the Symbio board. The option boards were installed upside down so they were actually set at “57” instead of “75”…that 0 tip helped lots!!

And you can see it's set on normal...yeah I've seen enough to know there is nothing normal about it.
