Yes. Joshi surfs with a tri-fin setup. But most of the rapid surfers I see don't go with that Setup.

Hi Mike, thanks for your feedback. I'm not sure if you're referring to surfing in the ocean. It's true that we make slightly different moves with our arms than in the ocean. The basic idea is that your rotation becomes rounder, and your shoulder rotates more. If you watch closely, you'll see that the movements sync with decompression. I agree that in the ocean, this might not be ideal, but keep in mind, these are rapid surfing tutorials :)

hey Lets discuss step one. Why you move your back hand first this way like a windmill? What you want to achieve. As i see you loose compression, speed and stability during this move. If you keep backhand around the hip and seat down deeper youll be more stable and fast. Then just load back hand behind your back, push weight to front foot, then stand up rotate and lift back hand up to the top of the wave where you want to make a turn. I suppose the move you do is correct or bs snap but not for frontside tuns... imho...
