So I’m a novice welder, my question is that many flux core wire is rated for single pass only. Are you using multiple pass flux core wire. If so what brand. Nice video -thanks
@DeathTollRacingКүн бұрын
You are correct! E71T-11 wire (I prefer Lincoln) is multi pass. A lot of wires are e71t-gs wires which are single pass only. They do have their place though. The gs wire seams to be better at welding on field repairs where the metal is dirty, pained or rusty. Obviously you should clean first, but sometimes you just need to get something going.

Be sure the one you get has a diode that prevents it discharging the battery when its not powered by the sun. Not all have that feature and it can drain and even ruin a battery. I suggest a solar charge controller as well. HF has some affordable ones. Found some good deals on Amzn but quality seemed to be all over the place so I'll probably judt stick to the HF one.

Ive been wanting to put this locker in the front of my 2000 tracker, but it has the little air actuator diaphragm in it. Do you know if its possible to reuse that carrier and a spacer cone to replace the diaphragm or would you need to use a carrier from a rear? I agree with your samurai side by side idea and you might as well get a 2nd gen tracker for funsies.
@DeathTollRacing4 күн бұрын
I’m totally guessing, but I would think while you have it apart you can find a way to permanently leave it actuated with spacers like you said. I’ve never been into one of those though, so I could be wrong.

I made one using an 18-wheeler air bag. They're light and handy and bigger is better. I used mine to position shipping containers so I left off the lateral movement hinge restraints. That worked perfectly getting my container atop the steel beam base of my previous containers. I used one of my industrial CO2 cylinders to inflate it away from shop air and as many truck owners already use CO2 to air up tires, seat beads etc jacking is a bonus.

Awesome. I have a 2016 ram 2500 manual trans with the bench seat. I wanna swap it out with the newer 1500 jump seat that has the locking back feature and three point seat belt but not sure if it would work and I don't think I'm as crafty as you.
@DeathTollRacing9 күн бұрын
I think you may run into issues with the side curtain air bags if you go too new. I'm not certain though.
@kkeahiol9 күн бұрын
@@DeathTollRacing I don't think the new jump seat have any side curtain airbags that would probably be dangerous. The new seats are able to lock the back rest part and therefore have a normal seatbelt for the person in the middle. Plus the cup holders too like yours the middle is useless and with a standard trans kinda far away from the driver to reach. Right on the arm rest would be nice. Just get worried when my kid sits in the middle next to me with only lap belt. Yah they can sit in the back but there are many times she wants to be next to me even tho with the stick shift it's not the most comfortable. One day I might go to the dealership and measure the new seat out like the mounting points and see if would work. It doesn't seem like they changed it a whole lot. Only thing is only the 1500 came with a seat like that.
