Bro I want my car to sound like that 😯 could you please tell me the engine specs?
@robertanderson19072 жыл бұрын
@J. Arellano: thanks for responding to Spencer's question about the droning - I'm afraid of that as well. Your comparison is between the stock and PPE mufflers with the PPE header and downpipe and high-flow cat already installed, which is good to know. However, can you comment on any differences when you switched from the stock header to the PPE header and downpipe? Did that make any difference to the sound at all? I'm wondering if that would be a good "middle ground" of getting some better sound without any droning. Thanks!
@RatAttack582 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late reply. Unfortunately I never got a chance to test the stock header with an aftermarket exhaust; I had made plans to ditch the stock header since I had heard horror stories of the pre-cats on the stock headers and opted to ditch it asap. If you're concerned with droning, you can always have an exhaust shop weld a resonator as needed. This should lessen unwanted noise. I know this wasn't the answer you were looking for but I hope it helps.

One of the most satisfying uploads I've seen in a long time. Don't get me wrong,I love the exotica you are playing with, but I've said for so long now that less can be more in scenarios like this and the moral Victor is this very well sorted little fire cracker...love it. Never heard the 1 z engine sounding so pumped as this, really would have thought it was a 2z conversation if you had told me. Would love to hear about the specs,until then....go off and slay a few more giants Jack!

I watch these videos to feel good about my 1ZZ MR2 I bought this year for $6000 with 125k miles. All it needed was CV axles. Has new tires and brakes, kinda shitty sounding exhaust, cold air, HID conversion, and runs like a top. I've had some fast straight-line cars like a Charger R/T ride my ass trying to challenge me and I put 5 car lengths on the guy by swinging into a 60 degree corner in 3rd with no braking, accelerated out of the corner and the dude was gone. He passed me on the freeway going about 120MPH later on because he mad. It's just a cool quick car. Looking like I'll be driving on the dragon this fall with my buddies before my friend's wedding. Gonna be a tight one. GTI vs 350z vs MRS vs possibly a Cadillac.

Do these cars handle corners better than a ZL1 1LE? Is your engine and transmission stock basically? Do they have oil pan baffling or something to prevent oil starvation from the Gs in corners? Thanks
@ES350gitgapped3 жыл бұрын
@@334trax2 I can't compare to a vehicle I haven't driven but otherwise yes it's basically a stock MR2 with a little extra bracing. The factory oil pan is baffled. If the oil pan has been replaced with one for a 1ZZ Corolla, it will not have baffling.
@334trax23 жыл бұрын
@@ES350gitgapped thanks, do you feel it is fun on track or to slow in total lap? I know it isn't a barn burner on straights but I mean considering corners for overall lap time. Do you need an LSD on these cars? I appreciate the reply, thanks.
@ES350gitgapped3 жыл бұрын
@@334trax2 absolutely fun but a turbo would make it a lot better. It's like a slightly faster Miata. All serious drivers seem to have the 6 speed LSD transaxle. I personally don't drive mine so hard that I have any problems with the factory 5speed open diff transaxle. I've never even squealed the tires throwing it into corners in fact.

Great work considering the power to weight! I just picked up a spyder for track work myself. What did you do to get it to 129whp? I'm building mine for NASA TT6 and can make around 138 average wheel horsepower so about 145 peak... hopefully I can get it to that number with bolt ons and a tune lol.
@RatAttack583 жыл бұрын
Honestly I haven't done much to the engine. All I added was a PPE header, midpipe and exhaust. Stock intake, no internal work, stock ECU. Engine is pretty reliable and healthy. I think with a good tune and bolt ons you'll get to the power levels you need to be at. Best of luck!
@94tegLSatMSC3 жыл бұрын
@@RatAttack58 Nice! I just got the Monkey Wrench intake so I'll pair it with a PPE header no cat and a pretty free flowing exhaust to see where it's at after that. Did you get the PPE header with a cat?

How much louder is the PPE compared to the stock exhaust at highway speeds? I really want to get the PPE but I'm afraid that at sustained revs in a road-trip setting it would be too droney even with the top down.
@RatAttack584 жыл бұрын
It's significantly louder than stock and will drone even with a cat. I'm catless now and the noise is much more raspy and drone-y at highway speeds.
