Great spawn, bots were annoying, but you kept safe enough and were able to kill all the bots. That made the difference because white was countered by red for a while, and then over-extended into red at just the wrong time as you were ready to take their weak cap. The main difference was board awareness, which is more difficult in the fog as it requires some concentration on metadata. But white should surely have realised you were the main threat after you took the bot chain. Well played.

I was so disappointed in black. It looked like he had masterfully cardblocked green, only to make the absolute most donkey of plays out of nowhere, unprompted.

wait if red's a beginner, doesn't that mean he's won a game before? how's that even possible
@digitallic20 сағат бұрын
Novice comes before beginner so you have to have won or come second in a few games if you’re a beginner
@DevinDTVКүн бұрын
when you said "learn how to use alliances" what did you mean?
@digitallic20 сағат бұрын
I sent the player an alliance request and they didn’t respond. That’s usually because a player doesn’t know how to use the alliance system in the game. Very important to learn how

Why didn’t you take the bonus around your cap? You could have gotten it first round
@digitallicКүн бұрын
On this map it’s my style to focus on removing my opponents from behind my capital rather than go for those center ring bonuses. Just my preference from experience.

- Spoiler alert - Quick question: in the beginning you went for noob corner. Why didn't you try to get the launchpad turn 1?
@digitallic20 сағат бұрын
On this map I tend to prioritize removing players from behind my capital rather than going for those center ring bonuses that require a lot of splits and are easily broken. Just my preference. Nothing wrong with going for those bonuses

i don't think i would've rolled that 9v5... playing for australia seems just less valuable than reducing his territory count imo, break australia, definitly, but after that, just roll as many territories as possible
@digitallic20 сағат бұрын
Problem here is that if you take territory and break bonuses you have to open both of their locked armies. I decided to roll a 97% roll instead of blitzing for territory so I could break australia and still get a solid roll on one of their stacks.

Yellow was definitely a better player than Blue. Blue doesn't even deserve their pretty low rank. Yellow is only on beginner because they like to antagonise and have a bit of fun in games. Red just had the patience of a saint and that's about what you'd expect for a master that's playing fixed classic since there's a lot of people that play that and play exactly like yellow.

With your multi game series I wonder how fog would play in. You need to focus more on fog but there is less to look at, so it may create an interesting experience and it should offset reduced visibility of the fog
