Nice layout! I don’t have space for one so I just make a loop of track on the floor from time to time. Which means I have no idea how to wire the electrical stuff to have multiple lines and points. I have that engine shed in the back of your layout too! It’s a card model.

No modification. It runs well on straights but doesn’t like the curves , that why you don’t see it going a round the complete layout .

That tank has nothing to do with Holden. Holden left the GWR 17 years before this loco was built. Originally, it used oil-firing "on the Holden system" (possibly using Holden's patent), but the Hornby model shows it after conversion to coal-firing. So: not Holden, just Churchward. (I thought Hornby had stopped calling it the Holden tank - maybe not.)

Hi there Tom, trust you are mighty fine, great video...I have a GWR similar set - although it was in a Christmas set box - it had the lowbed, 2 x express GWR coaches (4 wheelers) and GWR Single low flat wagon with GWR box on it and the brake van....do you perhaps know of this set - it is the Saddle tank set?

What motor is this running on? If it’s the original 2 pole motor then I have a service guide for adjusting the commutators, tender body should just lift off Repaint is interesting too, if the blue was just a bit darker it could look like an LMR loco!

Sorry for late reply. Yes it came to me with the tender body of. It does try to go so not have encountered one before I am at a bit of a loss.

@@tomstrains-sy4tq like I said, I’ve got a service guide for the old 2 pole motors, I’ve posted it onto my community tab but I’ll happily repost it for you should you like to see it, often the issue is that the commutator arms aren’t aligned properly

Hi Tom. I have the very same loco and quite coincidentally was resurrecting it from almost 50 years of inactivity the day you published this video! It was a firm favourite of my dad & me. We'd watch it charge around our layout for hours. Happy memories. So yesterday it got its first run out for decades, and will now spend the rest of its days (or perhaps mine?) either having a gentle trundle around the current layout, or standing proudly in my display cabinet. Thanks for sharing your example.

I have the same model, which runs really well. I bought it because I wanted a FS as it was when it hit 100 mph (ie, in its original A1 guise). I also fitted some oval builders plates to the smoke box. It's a regular performer for me.
