Hello! I know I'm a little late but this was an excellent video, thanks for the overview. I never use position one on my adjustable stocks anyway so this is a non-issue to me. Are you still using this product? Also, I liked and subscribed.

Do you recommend using the srs on a .300 blackout 10.5 and an ar15 10.5 556 build or what other option is available for these two sbr?
@BallisticSociety2 ай бұрын
Yes, I recommend using the Armaspec SRS in both of your 10.5" SBR's. You'll just use a heavier weight for the .300 blackout. I've been using one in my 10.5" 5.56 AR-15 Pistol Build for quite a while, and I just put one in a 10.5" .300 blackout AR-15 Pistol Build, but haven't tuned the blackout yet.

I've got the smb9 from armaspec. When I threw it in my gun, it felt like it had a super heavy back wall like on a bow and after I pulled the charging handle on my 3rd cycle test, it just felt stuck. Ever had that issue?

Nice video. I talked with armaspec, and you shouldn't be running grease or wet lube on that, use try lube like a normal spring system.

I've always completely greased the inside of the buffer tube, spring, and buffer with white lithium grease. Gets rid of the noise.
@TheBvirgilio869 ай бұрын
Anyone else hate that grease? It was the 1st grease I tried and found that it seems to oxidize quicker than anticipated and necessitates more frequent cleanings. Threw my tube away. Good demo about changing weights. I have several units but never thought about switching the weights. Could come in handy. Thanks

Yeah, I would have closed it off a bit after mag 3 to see if she still locked back. Filming with slow motion is helpful as well to see how it ejects and what the bolt is doing.

I can say from personal experience, if the threads on your buffer tube aren’t extended, you’ll never get this installed! Unfortunate because it is so cool looking. With some major challenges, I was able to complete the install on one out of three ARs. Very disappointed.

There is no deadblow effect to the SRS, which is why i dont use them any more. Eugene Stoner designed the AR with a deadblow buffer system to eliminate bolt bounce. Without moving weight(s) inside the buffer, you risk bolt bounce and that can either cause an out of battery detonation, or a click and no bang. Had an AR 9mm experience an OoBD, and luckily the gun and myself were unharmed, besides my pride and the mag release. I use sprinco springs and standard buffers. Because thats how the rifle was designed to operate. The Kynshot hydraulic buffer is the better alternative to the traditional buffer. Flat wire springs are nice too. Grease can quiet the cheese grater sound. And before anyone says GrEaSe AtTrAcTs DiRt... clean your gun, ding dong. Buffer tubes have a weep hole in the back and carb cleaner exists.

Sooo.... Im an idiot and purchased the srs9 6.4 for my Nato 223/556. Yes, I shot with it installed and liked the recoil and feel supringly without any misfeeds or fte's However the only problem (which led me to the conclusion i purchased the wrong srs) is the bolt would not lock back after last round. Again, Yes i know NOW the srs is made for the 9mm but im not sure i can return to exchange. So with that being said. The only difference i can tell is the black plastic buffer is just an 1/8th of an inch too long which stops the bolt from moving back enough to catch. Would running that weight with that spring configuration damage the rifle if i corrected the length of said buffer? Or is it mainly the length of the buffers that makes them different? Opinions or suggestions? Let the roast begin!🤦🏼♂️
@TheDkb42711 ай бұрын
The length should be the same it's the weight that is different. Can you manually lock the bolt back with the charging handle? If so then it's not the length but the weight is too much for the gas to push it back enough to catch.

I would like to know from your experience if Armaspec SRS is compatible with Sylvan arms 4 gen fold adapter in traditional AR15 with 16' barrel and if YES , what weight C or H will you install?
@BallisticSociety Жыл бұрын
I can't say for curtain 100% that this will work with the Sylvan Arms Gen 4 Folding Stock/Arm Brace Adapter but from what I can see I don't see why it would not. I would recommend getting there Gen 4 if you haven't already purchased one that way you have the "C", "H", and "H2" weights already in the package to easily adust it, and right now they have a father's day sale going on where you can get the Gen 4 Kit for only $3.00 more than the Gen 3 Kit. Use code "fathersdaysrskit" at checkout and receive 20% off. Think about subbing up since we have some new stuff coming out shortly, and thanks for the comment!
