the line about " if you died your own squire would have a smile on his face " is a refence to how king julian was presumed dead after falling from a skyscapre ( atleast i think) every one was sad, except maurice, he was smilling and stoped when it was reveald he didn't die.

Yeah I agree with you that it's very different, kinda jarring how out there the style of this one is. I think it's definitely deliberate though, since both the characters are so abstract. I wasn't too sure on the first watch, just cause it's a lot to take in, but goddamn I really like it now, the visuals are insanely good and the characterisation is on point.

In the danganronpa 3 anime Junko needed to get through some doors that required eye recognition so she took a guy,tied him up,forced his eyes to be fully open and she took a spoon and literally scooped his eyeball out of his eye.

Techically Junko and Monokuma are the same person. He’s just another persona she uses, so it’s not really a tag in. Instead it’s more akin to a mask or performing as a character.
