A volcada can also be artfully led from a back ocho; even combined with a hesitation / continuation.
@Jairelbhi12 күн бұрын
@@maleccnurse1 i can’t quite visualize the volcada you’re talking about. You’re right it can be led from different places. Would you happen to know of a video that shows the volcada in the manner you’re talking about?
@maleccnurse112 күн бұрын
@@Jairelbhi Sorry; no. But back in the day it was a signature move for me.
@maleccnurse112 күн бұрын
the simplist version: leading the follow into a "slightly' hi boleo from a back ocho, she is drawn into the volcada and returned.

@@JairelbhiCheck out Tangology 101 basic volcada demo (looks like tiktok to me). Looks like an incomplete lady left foot back ocho swung back into a volcada.
@Jairelbhi9 күн бұрын
I watched the tangology 101 and yes it was what we call the most common volcada. Follower doing back ochs, lead a back boleo into volcada. That's usually how we teach it when people want to learn how to do it.

Nice variations - thanks! What is for you the difference between "sandwich" and "mordida"? Normally they are used as synonyms and then "Sandwich into mordida" (at 2:00) wouldn't make sense.
@Jairelbhi9 күн бұрын
We typically say they are synonymous. We used it slightly different in the class. (at the moment I don't exactly remember what we said🫣🫣🫣). Now that I watched the video again, you're right it doesn't make sense at the 2:00 mark. Thanks for the feedback and glad you like the variations.

@@Jairelbhi many years ago I had watched Clint Rauscher and Shelley Brooks demo-ed on KZbin what a I remember as "milonguero dip". They have recently reuploaded it as "giro with tango dip" on Tangology 101.

This is the essence of Argentine tango lead and follow. The way I inderstand it. The lead and follow, the creativity, freestyling, no need for the follower to remember choreography etc etc is based on communication with the follower which foot is free to move. The walking pattern in the video is not something I have to memorized as a leader or my wife has to memorize. I can create my own walking pattern but certainly the pattern in the video is an excellent idea worth a serious look. Thank you very much, you guys are my favorite tango resource on KZbin.
@JairelbhiАй бұрын
This walking pattern is something we usually show beginners just to get them moving. Most of the time they don't think of it as a pattern, just a way to move. That's why we like it. It so easy to go into any other movement. And Thanks for the kind words. 😀😀😀😀

Nice! George, can you tell me brand of the lavalier mics that y’all use?
@JairelbhiАй бұрын
I am not sure the specific model, but the mics are Shure. Just to let you know, the specific mics are not the reason you hear us clearly in the video. I have an audio recorder (Zoom H1n Handy Recorder) that I connect to the sound system (specifically to the mixer). Zoom recorder is what captures our voices. Afterwards I sync the audio and video together. If I didnt have the recorder it would have an echo and couldn't hear us very well.

You know what? I've been dancing Argentin tango for about 1 year and 3 months. Tango makes me look beautiful and happy. I had three teachers who taught me dance without paying them and it was very valuable because they spent their time to teach me without thinking about what they should have. And you are another person that I secretly thought that you are my teacher as well. Because I spend time learning from your videos every day. Thank you very much. You are my idol.
