This was a transcendent experience, like the music was breathing profound awakenings into me. I felt a stir of emotions I didn’t know I had and was utterly captivated listening. Sublime feels almost insufficient. This held a magical enchantment that was like nothing I have ever heard. What is crazy is I am watching this for the first time on KZbin. I cant imagine what this was like live. This is the first time I have heard this piece.

Certainly a beautiful Concerto, love the piano entering in the beginning of the second movement, as well as the cadenza, of course.

I don't know how it's possible to compose something like this. I want to notice the scream of the violins at 15:53, which is absolutely overwhelming.

I love the facial expressions of the little female cello player who is sitting to the right behind the solo cello player. A mixture of liveliness and melancholy. She "breathes" with his playing. I love it. Btw the soloists are all wonderful. One HAS TO FALL IN LOVE WITH HERBERT BLOMSTEDT anyway.

In 1968, I got so caught up in this concerto that it gave me the flu. There I lay listening to this thing over and over in surreal fevered bliss. Far out. 38:47

Incredible performance of this absolutely divine work - which is my favourite among the concertos Beethoven wrote. Cheerful and upbeat in nature and full of gorgeous melodies and playful interactions between the soloists and orchestra.

I spent years listening to tens of recordings of Ondine, appreciating the infinite possibilities of interpretation of the piece and the myriad of different takes on it from different pianists. But I kept listening to so many recordings also because I was looking for one that would match my sensitivity and fully convince me in all of the sections of this masterpiece. I believe my search is over. This is the most astonishing one I've heard to date. God bless these 2 musicians.

I think Ondine and Gibet are wonderful . I think Argerich wins on Scarbo. Hers is darker…. IMO the way it should be played

I like the rendition of Anastasia Huppman better. She plays it with slower tempo. True to the sonata was written.

I'm curious where in Florida this was played, because honestly the lack of resonance from many of the instruments indicates a venue with improper acoustics. When I played this in high school, somehow I managed to play in venues that were set up properly (such as panels set up toward the rear of the stage that project more sound forward).
