Thank you for this. My son is skiing there right now and it's great to see some of the areas he's skiing.

I was sitting with my face pretty close to the monitor and at about 1:05:30 I actually tensed up and braced for impact, lol.

For a guy who worked at Big Sky, exactly fifty years ago, this was a treat for me! I skied many of the runs before there were any lifts. I was involved in setting off the first controlled avalanche above Morning Star, which had a six foot fracture line. Those first couple years were pretty western!

We climbed from the top of the triple chair to the peak, in order to ski what you now call the Big Couleur! Mark “Kowasaki” Kalitowski was the first to ever ski it! He will forever be the Legend! I on the other hand, hooked a tip and slid about 300’, lost a ski and tore my Achilles’ tendon. That ended my season.

Thankyou for the video especially for naming the runs. I've booked a condo in the village at Big Sky for a week next Feb and have been trying to familiarize myself with the runs by watching other KZbin clips and studying the trail map. Your video really filled in the gaps for me and now I can't wait to go!
