It is amazing that so many people have performed this (other orchestras too, beside this one), all on account of ONE science fiction TV show. Such is the power of inspiration that Star Trek has gifted us with.

Not ashamed to say I've cried to this

this is a masterpiece, done with small budget, when you realize it was done for a one episode in a series, it is even more amazing :)

I remember this episode from STNG, I absolutely love this melody. It evokes so many memories. ❤❤❤

It was and still is my favorite TNG episode and the music was a big part of the reason for that. To live a whole other life in minutes, like dreaming… The writers should have won an award for that. And I would think what made that special for Sir Patrick was to have his own son portray his son in the episode.

I can't believe that I watched Inner Light only yesterday, literally. Overwhelmed with strong emotions. What a story. A true masterpiece. I'll carry this song for life.

It’s really strange, I watched this first in 1995 and it’s always been one of my favourite ST:TNG episodes but now watching that same episode and listening to this 27 years later, it just hits very different

I recounted this episode to a ST fan, they hadn’t noticed it much, but to me it was the epitome of excellent writing, excellent sci-fi, excellent ST - all of it. Just tugged every element to cement true masterpiece.

This reminds me of my father and the time we shared watching Star Trek, and me growing up with him teaching me so many things, how to build things, repair plumbing, we read the same books. He is forever in my heart.
