@@7thfloorisnomoreq790 it’s a spring loaded bypass valve. If it breaks off, parts of it can get into the engine and possibly cause damage.

@@jasonwade9804 there is a recommended procedure for that issue. There are other videos on KZbin that detail what to do if it is broken. It is up to you if you want to go through that process or just replace it and hope for the best. I have seen many broken that did not cause major engine damage but you never know.

Hi.I have the same issue on my 2011 Cascadia it regens but the temps don’t get high enough then the system aborts the regen. I already cleaned out the 7th injector and de sooted the manifold pipe..I pulled that high pressure flang just as you did on the video and sure enough that control valve is blowing air like a whistle.. Could my problem also be that 2 stage DOC block mounted above the fuel pump as well? Your video on YT is the only one that says anything about that control solenoid could prohibited the regen process..Thanks for any info you can provide..

@@cedthetruth1311 if that valve is bad I’d say that is most likely your culprit. I’d check for any exhaust leaks as well. Look for soot anywhere around the exhaust system before the DPF.

@@DemonsBurnis the actuator needs to be calibrated any time it is removed. If you take the old one off or if you put a new one on. Calibrating the actuator is not a fix. If you’re having problems with the turbo or actuator calibrating it will not help.

Such a great video, with ton of knowledge. I have a question for you sir. Does it mean, it’s a bad turbo, if u find some oil in the actuator housing( where the turbo shaft is attached to actuator teeth)? Recently I have a replaced my actuator and found some oil there but don’t have any loss power or codes. Turbo shaft also turn smooth from left to right, just a tiny more pressure needs to be applied once get to right end. Could u pls advise? Also is there a contact, where I can get hold of you? Also have this other weird issue that no one seems to figure out. I can explain that better over the phone than typing it. Thanks

@@sukhjitsingh2504 there are seals inside the turbo that go bad and allow oil to pass into the actuator. There should not be oil in the actuator when you take it off. So, yes technically the turbo is causing that problem. You may not have any problems now but you may be replacing actuators more frequently and eventually see turbo problems. But it is a personal decision as to whether or not you want to replace the turbo or let it go until it gives you further problems. I don’t work in this field anymore. If you want to try to type out your other question here I’d be more than happy to try to answer. If not, I don’t have a contact number to give. Sorry. Glad this video helped you out.

@@inderveerbilling it is possible it could solve the issue. If I was a betting man I’d say it is probably not a software issue but it is always best to make sure your software is up to date before troubleshooting. To check your software versions you would have to have the Detroit software like you see in the video. The software number you see in the instrument cluster is the software number for the instrument cluster itself. Even the instrument cluster has software. Hope that helps.

@ last time I checked, if you have the software, Detroit charges $200 per updating event. I’m not sure if that means each module or all modules. The reason you change DPF zones is to program the truck to do a regen when the soot level is lower. Your DPF is a big filter that catches soot from your exhaust. It has sensors on it that read the pressures on either side of the filter. If it is in zone 0 it will tell the truck to do a regen when the pressure in the filter is at a lower level. When it is in zone 3, it will wait to tell the truck to do a regen until the pressures are at a higher level. The pressures indicate how much soot is in the filter. The regen gets the DPF hot enough to burn the soot and make it ash which clears up the filter. If you are regenning too frequently it’s because the filter is filling up with soot too often or you have faulty sensors. A regen requires the engine to be on at a high idle and for a significant amount of time to pass so that it can reach the required temperature for the required amount of time in order to burn off the soot. When you are driving in the city, the truck is often not able to reach those temperatures or maintain them and so the truck does not do a full regen. You can try to put the truck into a manual regen when convenient for you each day and make sure to let it run its course until it is finished. It is also possible that there is a fuel issue. The after treatment system requires diesel fuel in order to heat up and that can cause the truck not to be able to get to the required temperature as well.

@@inderveerbilling you would have to go to the parameters section and find the DPF tab under the ACM (after treatment control module) and change it to 0. Having it at zero programs the computer to do regens at the lowest soot level which may help with your problem.

@@amandaandgabriel5950 it’s probably not recommended by the manufacturer, BUT as long as you make sure it is dry before putting it back together you should be ok. The two ports at the bottom of the sensor are sensitive to pressure so be aware of that.

@ from what I saw online (I don’t have the software anymore), it looks like this code is referring to an open circuit at the EGR valve. Check the wiring at the EGR valve connector and harness. And if you know how, check the voltage and ohms at the connector of the EGR valve.

Bro, I am working on mine right now 10/22/24 in Spring Hill, FL. Mine, I ended up scraping almost the entire plaster, since the Roll-On plaster can be applied over concrete as well so that is my plan. So, to me so far have been very hard, but I can almost see it finished. I appreciate you making of this video. It will help me to pay attention to when I put the tape over the ceramic and to make the concrete more wet to be able to applied and make a smooth finish. Thank you so much.🙏

I use the TerraClean tool and products to clean the entire system in about 1.5 hours. I do not have to remove the valve, I hook in at the temp sensor, remove the egr actuator, and replace it with a thumb screw plate so I can open and close the valve. The system cleans the intake, grid heater and the combustion chamber,egr, egr cooler, turbo, and dpf. Basically everything "tip to tailpipe" Excellent video however, the TerraClean system has been life changing.

You ain’t kidding on those bolts being a bear to remove. Fighting with one right now. Three came out, but one is stripped. So I tried using a chisel to knock it loose but instead sheared most of the head off. Ahhh, good times. I expect to see carnage once im in. The truck died and is crank no start now with only about 175 psi of rail pressure.

You should take off the chip from old cluster and put it in the new cluster to have the right mileage otherwise you will have check engine light on
