I need some clarification.... I'm not trying to be funny, but I'm baffled by the visual of this country song. I get Beyonce is Beyonce, but Country is Country. Can I please see a black man in nice-fitting jeans, a flannel shirt, cowboy boots, and a hat? Why are the men in skirts, and they dealing with horses? Umm, not even cowgirls wear skirts while riding unless it's for a pageant or something special. I mean, I get it's a video, but commmmeeee on! This is crazy! I'm trying Beyonce fans, I'm really trying! And let's be clear, she should know better because she's from Texas, she's attended a million and one Rodeo's. I'm not saying gay or LGBTQ cowboys don't exist, but cowboys are cowboys, regardless of their sexual orientation, and they dress like cowboys. Sometimes, I wonder if Beyonce tries too hard to be creative because... um, this isn't it! It's like she helped open the door for other black country artists to get the shine they deserved because country fans were trying their best to say why Beyonce wasn't country and started comparing her to other country singers, including black country singers. Then she turns around and does this? She's proving their case by making this video. Before the Beehive comes for my neck, check out K. Michelle's country videos, Tanner Adell, and Mickey Guyton. You will understand what I'm talking about.
