This wasn't a Kingdom as such, If u listen to their Oral tradition, it tell that it was a regiment or a battalion of warrior if i can say, went to conquer something close to that, and the closes People who share the same craft are the Tribes which are under Ba Kongo ethnicity, Pende is a tribe not a Kingdom they are called BA PENDE in plural, they all fall under BA KONGO, the problem we are facing is that we tend to confuse, from ~Ethnicity to Tribes to Kingdom, BA KUBA is close to the KiKongo word KU KUBA: getting strong or ready or solid it can also mean NGOLO, BA KUBA might mean "the tough ones"

How is an African enslaving another African and using them as slaves, different from the Europeans exchanging money or goods for said slaves. They are still slaves. The whole concept of slavery IS that a human being becomes the chattel of another human being. Besides, what you HAVEN"T mentioned is that before the Europeans came onto the scene, it was the Arab traders who BOUGHT the African slaves who had been enslaved by other Africans and then took them back across the Sahara to Arabia to the markets there. The major difference being the Europeans DID NOT castrate the male African slaves, but the Arab slave traders routinely DID castrate the males.

Thanks for sharing this beautiful piece with the global community. I really enjoyed it and was searching the internet for more these Ghanaian cultural festivals. However, I am highly disappointed for the ethnic and tribal inaccuracy concerning this video clip. You covered a historical FANTSE traditional Festival and uploaded it with non relatable background folk ( ethnic songs). Traditional songs, often called "folk songs," are learned informally, within the context of family, tribe, community, or another close-knit group. As an indigenous Otuam and a proud Fantse man, I found it very disrespectful for playing a traditional Ashanti Adowa folk. Furthermore, I personally you don’t believe that you know difference between the Fantse Asafo war-songs and that of the Twi Speaking Akan group songs. Internet never forgets or forgives that is the more reason you must get it right for the very first time when dealing with something outside your domain. Thank you 🙏
