never watched this video, but recalled its title after I ran out of molotovs during the fight. you CAN kinda "kill" Abandoned Kerfus in the incinerator, you just have to make sure it's not close to the door. I got on top of it and lured Abandoned Kerfus into the middle of the incinerator and the music stopped shortly after, and when I opened the door there was nothing left. (also, the game didn't give me an achievement for beating it, so I'm not 100% sure what actually happened in there. got 19.3 fuel out of it tho)

Sometimes I wish the fandom was less horny. I like Votv because of how effectively it can do horror while simultaneously being chill and providing some interesting worldbuilding. A huge piece of the fandom (and even the devs themselves) seem to be there just to huff on the gooning fanart and sexualizing every creature in the game. It just ruins it for me on the level of the community a little bit, I wish these things could at least stay out of the game. I don't want this game to devolve into just this and end up with a fandom the likes of FNF or something. It's already sort of being devoured by sexualized / obsessive fanart in the communities I'm in and the discord despite being a horror game, it ruins the initial vibes.

From what i’ve observed of this thing, these are the facts: The abandoned Kerfus either approaches your base out of nowhere or is found buried in the ground, sometimes next to the remains of your own Kerfus which mysteriously goes missing while being charged. The shell is strange, screen broken and it has three nails embedded in the front of its wheel… almost as if someone wanted to stop this thing from moving. When it attacks, and it does so suddenly, it attacks with some sort of… ‘proboscis’ that stabs out and aims for the head. It’s phase two has an eyeball poking out the top of the screen, meat inside this ‘chassis’ as it attacks more aggressively. Then phase three shows a skull, from where the screen once was and it attacks with fast terror before it may be defeated, exploding it’s a pile of viscera and electronics… The only theory I can come up with is that this Kerfus is either corrupted with something special or has been invaded by some sort of ‘meat horror’ entity. It seems to attack working Kerfus, primarily when they’re inert and charging, and drags them into the woods before hunting us, using the Kerfus shell as a way to let our guards and approach us before stabbing at us with the proboscis. Before we even met it, the abandoned Kerfus may have been hovering around someone or stalking them, evidenced by the nails in the wheel, but they eventually were killed by the false Kerfus. Once it succeeds in taking down its target… it may ‘assimilate’ them into the tight shell, hence the disturbing display that’s clearly been shoved inside. Once it’s done… it may bury itself until the next target of this predator arrives. At least until we take it down for good and stop whatever it is this creature was doing…

If anyone curios, the 2 and 3 phases can be killed with 28 molotovs (+2-3 just in case of misses). Get this dude in the river and throw this stuff at it until it stops suffering. 1st phase is better to take on in melee with crowbar.
