People hated on this but I get it, mate. It's more similar in spirit with okonomiyaki, rather than being a reheated carbonara.

Time keeps rolling along. I remember each and every magazine, because I still have them all. I have a request, if it is possible. I very fondly remember the television series, Harrowsmith country life, with the most beautiful score and graphics as openers and endings, each segment so charming and light, knowledged and Canadian. The host was so nice, great voice and handsome as well.....I follow Mairlyn, a sweet funny lady on her FB, and I have hunted for years now for someone to upload those shows...There werent very many, maybe a couple seasons...would they be anywhere in the archives???...I always remember feeling such warmth and goodness when it came on..Im sure most of it is dated..but thats why I want to see them...

No man why. Low heat, Continue to stir while adding boiling water to stop the sauce from solidifying into scrambled eggs. Serve once steaming hot and add some salt and Parmesan for flavour. Carbonara is supposed to be a rich creamy sauce not a frisbee of burnt egg and spaghetti.

I've been making carbon transfer prints for 11 years and tri-colour carbon for about 5 years...and I'm in Canada. Carbon transfer will not go away. You don't have to just shoot film to make amazing carbon transfer prints.. I use both film and digital. In-camera negatives, as well as digital negs.

I am trying to locate a whole wheat recipe from the original harrowsmith magazine. I do not know if that is possible but if anyone knows how to find back issues, please comment back. This issue is all about whole wheat bread making and the only one I was using till my son cleaned the house without asking and threw the mag. And pointers are appreciated.

When my mother used to bake sourdough rye bread, she used wicker forms to make the loaves and instead of slicing the top, she would fold the bread. Traditionally, on each loaf before setting it aside to rise, she would also make the sign of the Cross and say, "In Christ's name, rise!" Superstitious, perhaps, but she swears the one time she forgot to say it, the dough did not rise and was ruined.

Really informative for sous vide novice cooks, however; handling food with bare hands and open wounds is a question of food safety. Gloves required....

Can't say enough good things about this farm. I am amazed at the quality and price of the feed here. Not everyday one can walk into a family business and feel great when you leave. When those sunflowers come into bloom it is quite a sight to see. They just seem to go on forever. Just an all around great experience. Will always get my seed from here, I travel 45 mins to get to the farm and well worth the trip. Fan for life.

I love Tom's work and especially all of his contributions to the furtherance of the craft, but I've heard him mention a few times about how the kerfing plane was something that he invented out of a need. I mean no disrespect, but let's be honest in the fact that more than a few of these can be found at any antique tool tradeshow, and a patent exists in favour of Daniel Whitker from 1866. docs.google.com/viewer?url=patentimages.storage.googleapis.com/pdfs/US52478.pdf

I must say, your collection of woodworking tools is most impressive, and great work!Like you, I grew up knowing how to use a hammer and saw and doing basic home remodels, being raised on a farm, however, I never really had exposure to "real" woodworking. I've always liked making things in wood - crafts, shelves and small pieces - but I've found a whole new world these handful of years. I'm an all-in woodworking maniac now! I just finished refurbishing another old bench plane I picked up at a flea market and couldn't wait to make some shavings. It's really addictive, but in a productive way, lol.
