Most likely it was the miss loading of the film...assuming that the lab developed it ok. you should be able to tell by looking at the negative if it was exposed to light or not....if i remember correctly if you see the frame numbers on the film but no image , than it was not exposed to light. a totally blanc film would suggest a developing issue.

I have the server set up and I am able to run the server and connect to the server on my Native OS. I ran "ip a" on the Ubuntu server and it gave me an IP address. I gave that IP address to my friends with the port 25565 but they aren't able to connect. Do you know what's wrong? Thanks
@jonbuder
@jonbuder 6 ай бұрын
you would need to give them your external IP and set up port forwarding on your router/modem/firewall (sometimes these are all the same device). The port would need to direct to the internal IP of the server, so you'll probably want to reserve that IP from the router as well.

You should be able to get an adapter for your phone to a USB port and connect the camera that way to get the pictures off. Or you could use a USB CF card reader. There is no WiFi or Bluetooth in this model camera.

Hi John, I have a few of the B-5's . they are a great mic, very quiet and I have used them for indoor dialogue in my short films and documentary. I put two of them into a rode blimp (Stereo) and they were excellent for outdoor ambience etc. I also use the Sennheiser Mke600 for outdoor dailogue. The B5 also work well for outdoor dialogue.

Jon - HELP! I have a V1U and a Ninja V. I am having the same constant issue. KZbin is full of videos with my same issue. My input signal between the V1U and the Ninja V keeps dropping out every couple of seconds. I have tried ALL of the known solutions, mostly related to updated firmware for the Ninja V and various HDMI cable solutions. I have spent $300 dollars on HDMI cables. NONE OF THEM WORK. Some of the more expensive ones had worse performance. What brand HDMI cable are you using? What settings do you have for the Ninja V and your V1U? Your posted video is phenomenal. I dream of being able to do the same!
@jonbuder
@jonbuder 10 ай бұрын
Hey Jeff, I have used a short Atomos brand coiled HDMI, but also a Kondor Blue thin one. However, it seems to work fine with a no-name 6 foot cable too… have you tried a different camera with the Ninja to troubleshoot? And a different device from the camcorder, like a TV? You might consider recording to tape and using FireWire to transfer also.
@jeffbone7100
@jeffbone7100 10 ай бұрын
Thanks, John. The Konder Blue did not work. Neither did the Atomos brand. I have not tried a different input source. That's a good idea since the issue could be with my brand-new Ninja V (though, not likely). I can't record to tape as the tape mechanism in my camera does not work. It won't register the DV tape and I get an error message. That's why the thought of an external recording device was ideal. Right now, I have a very expensive boat anchor.@@jonbuder

@@jeffbone7100 ah, that is disappointing. Another thing that might somehow work is running the HDMI cable through a splitter- probably not, but if you have one around you could try it might be worth a shot. Good luck!
@jeffbone7100

Okay - an interesting update. I hooked the Ninja V up to my laptop sending the HDMI out to the Ninja V and played a video I had on my laptop. I did not have any input issues at all using several HDMI cables. I recorded for 20 minutes straight. Oddly, no sound was recorded, though. That might be a setting on my laptop. There is sound coming through with my V1U - I just keep constantly losing the input signal. In short, it's not the Ninja V or any HDMI cables. That only leaves the V1U camcorder. I checked the Atomos site for a list of devices that are supported, and it doesn't even list the V1U. Yet, you are recording without any issues. What are the V1U settings that have on the camcorder? Sorry, to take up so much time, but at this point, it's either my V1U settings or my camera has HDMI output issues. Take your time responding if needed.@@jonbuder

Jon do you use your NTG1 on camera, boom pole, interviews or podcast? What do you like or dislike about it? Yesterday i picked up a NTG1 at a swap meet. I read it works well with the zoom h4n using phantom power. I have two H4N recorders. I'm a little concerned about it draining the H4N batteries.
@jonbuder
@jonbuder Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. I use it on a boom pole, have only used it for one project so far and it was for a short film but it was in a pretty noisy location (peacocks cawing in the area and some semi trucks on a nearby road). I was not completely impressed by the off-axis rejection to be honest. I was comparing the specs of the NTG1 and on paper it seems like it would be similar to the Deity S-Mic 2 in off-axis rejection, however in some of the tests I have watched/listened to it sounds like the Deity performs better. If I upgrade to a better shotgun mic I might get a thick furry windscreen and use the NTG1 as an on-camera mic for my camcorder. Battery life is definitely a concern, but I think you should be able to run your H4n from a USB power bank. That way, the internal AA batteries act like a UPS so you can even hot-swap from one power bank to another without interruption.

This popped up and I watched having bought it new in 2003. I still have it for posterity having used it for my kids growing up, dogs no longer here and so on. Back in the day, versus film, well, it helped boot film off the shelves big time. Seen in that light (pun intended) it took awesome pics. No one inspected the camera screen for DR, just knowing you framed it well and roughly looks OK was way out in front. The pictures from it now sit in the cloud and are displayed on my 4K big TV looking FINE. No one walks past and says do you mind if I zoom and pixel peep. This stuff was really just coming on stream at a time when most never got their kids on video (camcorder), not long before anyway. Great times and great memories from a time now in history and never to come back. Fashions come and go and tech changes..............It's now not relevant at all for 99.99% but in a pickle and see it for $15 and that's all you have it would work ................ Cheers

For stills it’s fine handheld. You want your shutter speed to be greater than the focal length (consider 1.5x crop). So, fully zoomed, crop sensor = 270mm. 1/250 shutter might give some blur, you want faster than that. I would say try to use faster than 1/500th shutter to be safe.

Yes. It will depend on where the computer is - if inside your local network it's just the firewall (UFW) in Ubuntu you have to allow access from, if it's outside the network you'll need to set up port forwarding on your router/firewall.

The performance will depend on how much of the host computer resources you allocate to the VM. You will have to open a port - NAT or port forwarding would be needed on your router or firewall.
