I would not trade Savard to any team in Canada east teams. Out west teams yes. But we can't trade all vet D-MAN. Young guys are not ready yet.

If I’m Anaheim I’m taking one of the young centers and trading them for a top four defenseman. They need a top four defenseman and have a plethora of young top centers. Mctavish Carlson cutter strome Zegras etc. maybe a Carlo or lindholm from Boston who needs another center or savard from mtl. Anderson or weegar from Calgary.

I just don’t get why the Habs are linked with the Oilers for Savard? The Oilers have NOTHING Montreal would want and the Habs don’t needs picks. So far MTL looks like they will be sending Reinbacher, Engstrom, Trudeau, Pots, to Laval, so it’s more likely Baron or Steiner would be moved. Out.

Robertson is going nowhere. He is young and scores. Too much upside.Better than Kampf,,Reeves,. You need depth scoring when injuries happen. We are also only 3 games into preseason.....

Toronto has a ton of scorers they need two way forwards and defense. Having nick on your fourth line doesn’t help you.

Savard to Edmonton.What Ottawa needs to do is make a big trade with Calgary that works both ways. Norris,Zub,Perron, Ostapchuk,Boucher,and Forsberg,for Anderson Huberdeau, Mantha,and Coleman. Weegar is the top right shot they need then Zub second pairing and Marionov third pairing right shot.All Calgary needs is a good Russian Center,look in Columbus they have one.

@mike8099m Norris is a top line center,Zub is a second to top pairing right shot if he was a left shot it would be different,Forsberg is a better back up to starting goalie.Ottawa has Soogard as a back up.I know you are wrong on this,maybe a first for 2027 as a sweetener. Take a look at the Calgary team,they are going Russian.They would have all the Russian d men they need.Weegar with a North American left shot,Zub and a Russian left shot of choice,Marionov and a left shot Russian of choice.Kadri,Pospisil and Perron,a Russian second line and a Russian 3rd with a gritty 4th line North American.

@@edpottinger849 your center piece is Norris who is not a number one center. He also spends more time injured than on the ice. Zub is a 4th defensemen not a top two. Also Calgary is headed to a rebuild not a retool. They would be willing to trade anyone on the roster but it will be for picks and high end prospects.

I love what Pez brings, id keep him at least for a depth guy. Hes the kind of player that's tough to play against for 7 game series in the playoffs.

I'd be disappointed to see Pezetta go. He brings toughness to a team that hasn't had a lot over the years. No doubt he'd be picked up; a tough, 4th line energy guy. He'll find a home.

Great "newsy" report Mike!! 1. As I said in post a day or two back.....GMs & coaches are holding their perverbial breath that their studs don't get injured. Tough loss for Kings especially. 2. Leafs should trade Robertson and get Pacioretti signed for the season. 3. Habs young "D" are ready to step up. Savard will be dealt probably close to trade deadline when his value is at its height. It's possible he could go before season starts too. 4. I love Pezetta......a gritty 4th liner who can drop the gloves and who's loved by his teammates. Time for a young player to step up.

there's no one on the kings roster that i'd want - at least none the kings would trade for dvorak. they do have a prospect, jack hughes. he's kent's son. limited upside, but we're trading dvorak. i'd rather have new jersey's version, but he'd cost suzuki+. i fear your candidate is kaliyev. no thank you. i'd really rather not retain on dvorak. we might get a 1st if we eat half on savard.

the source is a hawks beat writer. when the source is the wild, his agent, or kaprizov himself, then it won't be the nothingburger it is. there is reason for kirill to be optimistic about the future of the wild. wallstedt in net, faber and buium leading the defense, and boldy, rossi, khusnutdinov, heidt, yurov, stramel coming and JEE locked in for many more years...the future is bright for the wild. especially with the cap going up and the worst of the suter/parise buyouts will be over.

Swagman is Bobrovski. Bob got paid for being elite and getting through a couple playoff round with cbj. He then got signed to a semi crazy contract with Florida which a 1-2 years in people called him injury prone and an impossible contract to trade but Florida didn't budge and Bob brought them to a cup final and the following year got them the cup. That makes me feel like franchises and players give goalies the actual confidence over fans and even themselves.

trade evans to the jets in a deal for namestnikov. we want a vet russian in place for when demidov comes over. that could make a world of difference. also he's still useful as a player in his own right. cbj is our only shot to lose dvorak without retention, or a worse deal coming back, imo. they can just have him, we don't even need a return.
