Great organ music & playing. Good to hear new works or by unknown composers.

Классно поют, плюс учитывайте, что это еще и ранним утром, когда поют разве только птички😅 Кароче, качественное исполнение)

I am always stunned by Robert Quinney's organ playing. The Prelude and Fugue in C major by Bach (BWV 547) which he played at an organ recital in New College Chapel I have listened to countless times. I also like very much New College Choir which is directed by him.

This recital was my first intro to the new Magdalen Eule, and kept me company while working today. Bravo to Robert Quinney - Mendelssohn is always a pleasure (what a lot of notes though!), and the Byrd from memory was exquisite. Thank you for posting!

It is crystal clear J. S. Bach intended to make the entire congregation fall asleep, if not pass out altogether with these compositions. And Mr. Pott has succeeded admirably in carrying out Mr. Bach's intentions to the fullest! 😉😂

I think this is an innovation - also the song to the tune "Barbara Allen" and the last one. No Silver Swan? That was my favourite. "more geese than swans do live, more fools than wise"

@pingleresearch Have you come across the performance of that piece by "The Gesualdo Six" on their KZbin channel? Originally recorded for "Classic FM" in the UK. Worth searching for!
@pingleresearch6 ай бұрын
@@nickdouglass421 Thanks! I found it on KZbin. Beautiful! It's a lovely song, but it's hard to place because although it's considered a madrigal, it is sad, but also has a message that could be called ironic.
@nickdouglass4216 ай бұрын
@pingleresearch Glad you found it! I believe it was considered as a satirical piece on the state of the political scene at the time! Thus a musical metaphor as such.
