I gotta say RJ Luis Jr played his best game so far in this early part of season 21/11/7. He didn't force bad shots vs New Mexico, and found open teammates. The way he scores and rebounds he could be a walking double double

He’s often out of control with his head down and not looking to create for others. I mostly have no issue when he’s in the half court looking to create off the dribble but when we’re on a 4 on 3 fast break and there are teammates open but he just insists on creating for himself that’s not the best look. Like I mentioned Fanta used the phrase out of control multiple times in regards to RJ last game and I thought it was one of his better games cerebrally.

U two sycophants never cease to amaze---nor do u ever waver from worshipping at the feet of Pitino. He is the 'GOAT'? Are u insane? Did u watch ANY games this past season? Pitino SUCKED! He is selfish and self-centered! He was outcoached and, very often, outclassed by other coaches. He acted like a 3rd grader when he through his entire team under the bus at a time when he SHOULD HAVE been trying to LIFT them up. He showed his TRUE colors. Pitino is a phony and terribly overrated by the media and dopes/fans like u guys. HOW long will it be before Pitino tells us it is 'going to take time with this group'. That is his NEW go to line so that he can insulate himself against any criticism (though, he rarely gets any from the brown-nosers in the media and throughout Redmen Nation). Name one guy/player that Pitino 'took' to a different level last year. Alleyne regressed; Soriano regressed in a BIG way; Conway regressed; Dingle regressed BIGTIME as did Ledlum. And, lets not forget poor Glen Taylor---Pitino DESTROYED that guy in so many ways. Pitino stunted the growth of Wilcher and Dunlap. RJ Luis had some injury issues but do u really believe Pitino made him a better player? Mark my words, Luis will be leaving St John's after this season. He is giving Pitino another chance but, I believe, he sees the writing on the wall: Pitino cares about PITINO and that isn't going to change. U folks need to stop kissing Pitino's ass and start thinking for urselves.

Great few days but appreciate the perspective - last year's 6th ranked portal transfer was a disappointing season. Rick was smart in recognizing the kids that stayed and Sim especially has to be integrated into the mix. Lack of shooting is a worry - Dunlap may play a larger role than expected and Dingle's return would help. Still, exciting times and hopefully this team will mesh early so we don't have to sweat out a bid to the dance.
@rapidreactionpodcast6 ай бұрын
I personally think Wilcher and especially Dunlap benefit greatly from Kadary joining. Can guard the more physical wings than Dunlap struggles with on D, and can set him up for open looks on O. Wilcher gets to learn next to two veteran guards, not to much unlike a Stephon castle did last year at UConn.

It isn't right that didn't get in but I understand the conference trnys did us no favor. After I got over it I said that myself, well at least I will get to see them in NIT. I just wanted more of them. Then came the decision that upset me n angered me. What a stupid, short sighted, selfish move to decline invitation. First off, who the hell are we to be above anything? Jeez . Haven't been relevant since Ron Artest. Secondly you have a fan base starving for any success n we wanted more. I still wanted something to do n watch. Third it would still help you recruit. More eyes watching how you react to adversity would have been important. N more chances to coach your team n teach those coming back. This decision was wrong, and reprehensible. It was unfair to your fans who wanted more. Shame on you President Shanely n Pitino for that matter.

Thanks Jamie. I didn’t love the decision either but seemingly plenty of other coaches felt the same.

U are correct. Pitino is a selfish, self-centered and sanctimonious individual. He believes his own headlines. He has definitely lost his fastball. In fact, I am not sure he ever had one. I think it is possible that he has won (in the past) bc most of the time he has had GREAT players. Pitno prefers to get a jump on next year's recruiting than to celebrate and extend the careers of his current players. That is textbook arrogance/hubris. If I am a highly rated player, there is NO way I play for this bastardo!
@DeanFierro-s3h8 ай бұрын
As usual, u folks completely miss the point. The team's failure was poor coaching! Pitino gets an F for the season. He was outcoached virtually every game (the misuse of Soriano is tragic and beyond stupid) and then, when things were at their lowest point of the season, he throws his team under the bus. Pitino is a phony. U can throw men, professionals, under the bus but u don't do that to kids. Pitino showed his true colors THAT day! Also, he shows his selfishness yet again by passing on the NIT. He prefers to get to work right away with the transfer portal. What did his players think? Don't u think some of them would have loved (possibly) 2-more home games and then 2-more at the Garden? Pitino is a joke. I am convinced he has won in the past bc he had GREAT players bc he is NOT a great coach. WHO got better on St John's this year? Most every player regressed in a BIG way. Do u think Taylor, Conway, Luis, Dinkle, Ledlum and Alleyne are happy they came to NY? Pitino misused EVERY one of those people---especially Taylor (who he used as his personal yo-yo). EVERY player (except Jenkins (and I will get to him later)) played scared. EVERY time they made a mistake they looked at the bench expecting to be taken out (and almost always they were yanked). A coach is supposed to instill confidence in his players NOT destroy it. Pitino was a colossal failure in year 1. As for Jenkins, I am NO fan. Pitino, on the hand, thought the guy could do no wrong. Pitino said in October that Jenkins "makes everyone else better". REALLY???? WHAT player improved while playing with Jenkins? The answer is obvious: NO ONE! Pitino;'s unyielding and extraordinary belief in Jenkins was one of the main reasons the Redmen failed this year. His poor coaching, of course, was the biggest reason the team failed its objective. You guys are fans---you are not objective observers. STOP kissing Pitino's ass! START looking at things in a more intellectual manner. Pitino's 'greatness;' is a myth. He failed MISERABLY this year and HE knows it. The fact that u folks and the sycophants in the media make excuses for him, is sad. One thing is for SURE, Pitino will have NO excuses next year. He will have to accept all the arrows if he fails again in 2024-25.

Don't think anything we do can get them in. It's really in the big East tournament hands. Going to need to win final 3 then 3 in trny to have any prayer.
