This is the key move. The first thing you do to start the downswing is a sit, immediately paired with rotation. If you’re on a single plane address your rotation is into a flexed lead knee. If your conventional your rotation includes a straightening of the lead leg due to distance to the ball. Either swing, the first move is a sit. Why golf instructors don’t just say this is beyond me. You don’t need to focus on how to clear your hips, or separate lower from upper body if you get this initial sit move from the top of the backswing.

Question regarding the notion of "natural shape pattern" following my statement. I understand the notion and agree with NOT trying to play multiple shot shapes and agree that that is way to complicated. But if you are someone that DOES have a natural shape aka the swing is more prone to your fade demonstration, wouldn't it make sense to lean into that technique and essentially play that as your natural/stock shot? I know the answer is "why not just invest into the proper technique and hit it sttaight", but im curious what a response would be to leaning INTO your natural shot tendencies and techniques vs really forcing new techniques and motor patterns.

The epitome of feel and real, Moe's club does what every good ball striker's club does. The important part though is how it feels to him.

Moe Norman changed the fundamental alignment from after the contact point to the beginning of the contact zone(over trail foot) the center of the swing (Solar Plexis) alines with the hands (butt end of club). He adjusted the club away to compensate for the lack of lead arm overlap (extended lead arm) through the contact point and a fixed grip produced his swing.

I don’t copy his leg movements, but just COPY the “invisible key essentials or key master moves” that produce automatically or impetuously the smooth and pure ball striking prowess of Moe! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

I saw Moe dead top it from the first tee, it was a par four. Second shot was driver from the fairway (persimmon headed driver), hit the ball to ten feet and made birdie. One of his hustles in his younger days was sand wedge , Driver, in that order on par fours. He was an incredible person who was underrated by the golf world for decades which was unfair and sad.

The conventional golf swing were the body turn and the arm swing aline at the contact position after the ball. This narrow window for success caused him to be inconsistent. He adjusted the alignment of the center of the golf swing, Solar Plexis, to his hands though the contact zone, 41 inches. This creaded the swing, not the swing .

I was blessed to see more Norman one time really in my life for a couple days. I went to Doral. I can't remember how many years to go to the tournament and he was there. I guess it's over 20 some years ago from what I remember and we were down there and all the sudden we saw all the tour players stop so the older gentleman Mo Norman were walking out there with his. I guess couple balls and chip and irons and stuff like that again an hour one hour in this end and he had a caddy with him and it was amazing to watch him do the things he did. He could hit balls and hit him 135 40 50 yd that they were already beside each other. Every tour player that was there stopped and watched him. Everyone stopped. He was that incredible. I was lucky enough to see him 2 days. I saved for the whole weekend from a friend of mine. Danny and we knew one of the great caddies. Pete Bender and Pete got us at Doral lot and we got to see Mo. Norman, I'll never forget it. It was most incredible thing I've ever seen to this day. Nobody could touch him. What a sad thing. He was so misunderstood because of his. I guess his speech issue or headache. Everybody thought he was not quite all there but he was more than all there. He was smarter than anybody else as far as golf game. He was genius when I came to the golf game. God bless. I wish I'd have got to seen him more than that one weekend. Oh man he was something. God bless him. I'm sure he's in heaven teaching all the Angels how to play. special man

I used to love that range I’m 64 now and still love to flush a golf ball, take care Todd.
