Both boxers were great that night, but Duran deserved his moment of glory. He entered the ring with a record of 71 fights, just 1 loss against a boxer he beat twice in rematches and 56 ended inside the distance. What a remarkable professional record.

Leonard's basic mistake was to fight Duran's fight...as planned by Duran when he insisted in saying that he was not coming to clown around...Leonard fell right into his trap.

Duran was my favourite fighter of all time. Notice the humility with which he speaks when victorious; with his thank you to Cosell, and his acknowledgement of his victory over the brilliant Leonard as being the greatest of his career.

It amazes me that people still argue about who’s the greater fighter of the two. They both are great and walk in a realm of their own. To be belittled by some fat f**** behind a keyboard is probably nothing they care about. If you can’t show respect and admiration for both of them, you clearly never stepped into the chamber of truth.
