That A350 (35L), was an A350 from TAM (LAN partner, and now LATAM), it has and old configuration with 30 "Delta One" seats, 63 Comfort+ seats and 246 Economy seats with no Premium Select seats... It's used fot the ATL/SCL route of Delta and maybe it doesn't have the updated Delta One seats, but it's a very nice and comfy plane, I flew a couple of times there using the conection at ATL to YUL.

That’s what we’re saying! 😆 But Avianca sells this product on their website as Business Class. But Avianca is basically a low-cost carrier with extra legroom seats 💺 available. Their model is similar to Air Asia. But somehow Avianca is a Star Alliance member. 😆 I think Star Alliance keeps Avianca because they are one of the oldest continuously operating airlines in the world.

I'm glad I happened across your video. I was just about to book a ticket to spend a week in La Paz, but decided it's not worth the hassle for a short stay. The U.S. is the only industrialized country than needs a visa for Bolivia and that requirment is purely political. Leftist and U.S. hating president Evo Morales put the requirment in place in 2007 and it has never been removed. Also, all travelers from other countries only have to pay from $30-$95 for a visa fee. Only U.S. citizens are charges $160. Hopefully they will realize that they are losing tourist dollars and change it at some point.

This video is one of the most sophisticated presentations I have encountered when researching flight experiences - it's professionally shot, edited and content is way above average. Tina and I will be taking our second Turkish Airline flights and this time we will be flying the 787 from Istanbul to Cape Town. Unfortunately we will be flying the first leg on an antiquated 777-300ER Business seating. That said, we're fortunate to be able to afford business class on very long hall flights and the world travel we do!

Unfortunately my experience with Turkish Airlines support and customer care has been extremely bad as well. Infact THY owes me more than $100 for changing my seat without my consent, a seat that I paid extra for and had reserved online on their own app. The customer support and care is non existent and THY will never accept its responsibility where any refund or money is concerned. The flight crew is somewhat better but they hardly ever come to assist you or interact with you to avoid any requests or complaints.
@kentuckiansabroad

Avianca is a lower cost per flight airline. Business class is NEVER going to be the same as what you would get when you pay for premium service from, say Qatar Airlines or even America's United Polaris at twice the price. I appreciate that you wanted more but it's unfair to expect it from a service that has chosen to be at a lower price point. Your criticism is therefore, in my opinion, not reasonable.
@kentuckiansabroad
@kentuckiansabroad 3 ай бұрын
Criticism is always reasonable when customers pay nearly $1,000 USD for a “business class” flight. Yes, Avianca is not the same price point as Qatar Airways, but that price point is outrageous silly as well. Qatar certainly has better service than Avianca, but nothing about a Qatar flight is worth $5,000 - $7,500 USD. The price points chosen by airlines is completely irrelevant and fluctuates wildly at different times of the year. It’s the service standards which should be reviewed and criticized by customers. If Avianca is going to label itself as a low-cost carrier, then it should stop pretending that it offers business class. It’s misleading to customers that are unfamiliar with the standards of premium classes.
@debrahaworth1858
@debrahaworth1858 3 ай бұрын
@@kentuckiansabroad As a regular user of First and Business class I accept the truism that you get what you pay for. I have experienced a broad range of difference among airlines' First and Business facilities. Avianca is actually providing a legitimate business class option. Your trip included a personal seating pod, a flat bed sleeping space with bedding, a dedicated staff, dining and drink service, a personal entertainment system, etc. Those things all cost money. It may not be silk sheets and an on-board shower, but you got what you paid for, and I suspect those traveling in Economy would have happily changed places with you.
@kentuckiansabroad
@kentuckiansabroad 3 ай бұрын
What is your real point here? You said my criticism was unreasonable, but it’s not unreasonable at all. You just clarified that Avianca does offer a true business class. And my criticism was that Avianca’s business class service is not as good as many airlines in the industry that offer a business class product. So what is unreasonable about the criticism? Is it okay for Avianca to have terrible business class customer service because they charge less for their tickets than Qatar Airways or United Airlines? The answer is absolutely, no, it’s not okay to have terrible customer service in any business or first class product no matter the ticket price. It’s misleading customers and it’s poor quality from an airline that is sadly a Star Alliance member. 🤦‍♂️
