Ocean actually isn’t soup though. First tell me the year of when soup came to be- Mid 1600s. So then what was the ocean before the word “soup” was known or created as? Simply put, it’s not soup if it came first before soup did.

To my knowledge there was no time period in the history of earth where the oceans were consistently at above 100°C for them to boil and at the same time an existence of vegetables and/or organisms(or even meat). Kinda funny but also very interesting if you think about this question too hard.

For a soup to be a food, it needs to be safe to consume WITHOUT health threats. The average ocean salt level is 35‰ per 1L. That is NOT safe to consume in anything, salt is deadlier than you can imagine. Plus, since unprepared seaweed, and LIVE CREATURES are in it, including litter and dangerous materials disposed in, including waste, toxic and human waste (poop), the ocean is NOT a soup. Yeah yeah yeah, i'd like to see you eat toxic waste, poop and pee, turtles and other creatures, leftover metals, super salty water in one go. Oh, go on and try. Conclusion: The ocean isn't a soup due to the health threats and dangerous parasites with infections. Ocean is not consumable.

This actually WAS decided in a court of law. It was about tacos, not hot dogs, but the principle was the same. So, some shopping centers have rules that say that only one of a specific kind of shop or restaurant exist within the shopping center. At some point, there was a shopping center with a Panera bread in it, and then a Qdoba moved in, and the Panera people took the Qdoba to court, claiming they were breaking the rule because it was another sandwich shop. The court ruled in favor of Qdoba though because, by the merriam webster dictionary definition of a sandwich, a taco is not one. And by that same definition, a hot dog is also not a sandwich. So... There ya go, I guess.

Sub sandwiches, which are inarguably sandwiches, have one connecting piece of bread, just like hot dogs. However, hot dogs are standardly eaten with the open part of the bread pointed UPWARD, so that any condiments on the hot dog won't fall off. Whereas sub sandwiches have the open part of the bread to the side. So if you have a hot dog with no condiments (or with condiments, I guess, if you don't mind making a mess) and eat it sideways, it's a sandwich. But if you eat it the way most people do, it's not. Therefore, given that the majority of hot dogs are not eaten in ways that would qualify them as sandwiches, the hot dog, generally speaking, is not a sandwich.

Drinking seawater can be deadly to humans. Seawater contains salt. When humans drink seawater, their cells are thus taking in water and salt. While humans can safely ingest small amounts of salt, the salt content in seawater is much higher than what can be processed by the human body

Unfortunately for Edgeworth, the ocean isn’t being cooked. By FDA standards, being “cooked” means that the food (or soup is this case) has reached an overall temperature of 165 degrees Celsius, as this is the standard temperature to kill bacteria within the food. Since the ocean’s average temperature is 62 degrees, this means that the ocean, is not in fact soup, and though there are technically soups that are not cooked, those soups are not served in a saline broth. 😁

No, the ocean isnt a soup. For the sake of the debate lets just say, if you were to eat the ocean youd eat everything, water, plants and fishes. The thing is, for a food to be a food it has to be edible, right? Well, human stomachs cant handle drinking ocean water, nono! Thats not enough. Theres a ton of poisinous plants and fishes. Pufferfishes skin, for example. So, no. The ocean isnt a soup because its not edible

1. You're not supposed to drink seawater 2. Soup requires other ingredients; it isn't just broth alone 3. Seawater isn't broth 4. Stored in a can 5. Needs to be sold
