Nice video, well explained, but one little concern. You really should put units on all your numbers throughout your calculations.

Howdy, I was wondering why you multiplied by 2 * w * v(rel) as this is just the same as the centripital acceleration 2*r*w^2. I did get the right answer but I am confused why this value is used and what it is. Any info would available, thank you!

I have a doubt in this, centripetal force mrw^2 is act towards the centre, so why we take it along the friction which act outside

Why is GI a zero force member if there is a force acting on joint G?
@ryanx_x865014 күн бұрын
Because this ZFM does not rely on Joint G. Instead, the two collinear to determine GI are AI and CI, since we can ignore HI because it has zero force.

Thank you for this video. On example #4, wouldn't the derivative of ax be ax-dot? That would make the term acos(theta) times x-dot. I worked through the examples with you and I'm just wondering about this.

P-lead = 205 , how it can be 200?
@vicallday33253 ай бұрын
What if the plant was a third-order system, instead of the given second-order system 5/[s(s + 20)] ? Could the overall approach for finding damping ratio and natural frequency be the same?

This video doesn't reflect reality. It is easy to make formulas have a settling time of 0.1 seconds, but the control output is limited so the control output will saturate. The response will not be as desired. In reality the controller and amplifier only have so much power. The zeros are creating the overshoot. The zeros can be eliminated by having the PID gains act on the changes in the actual state only, not the error. Zeros can be placed too.
@pnachtwey3 ай бұрын
For a root locus video this is pretty good but plotting the root locus for one gain has little utility when the controller must have a PID with a second derivative gain to place all the closed loop poles. Then you can place all the closed loop poles to the left on the negative real axis to get a faster response. What if the controller only has a PID? The response to a step or some other input should be shown! What good is the root locus if none of the values of K are any good?

Hi, Could you please explain the use of the right-hand rule? Can we simply decide the direction of the x-axis as we want? Additionally, can we define the thumb’s direction (inwards or outwards) as positive based on our preference? I’m a bit uncertain about how we establish these definitions and under what conditions they apply. Thank you.
